I was checking out my journaling app yesterday and found out I've been using Linux for a year. Man, time flies. But I haven't regretted it at all! I'm even more nerdy about it now than when I started.

Honestly, I'm legitimately tearing up a little as I type this. I know human nature demands adaptation and can't stagnate. But the emotional and mental part of this hurts a little. I think that's why I value getting my family together to watch the specials we love.

I wonder if my/our parents long for those days the same way we do? If their hearts become warm but also hurt thinking about waiting for the right night to watch a Christmas special air on a certain TV station. Houses that were lit better. Etc. I thought about it and my mom and I got sad.

I keep thinking about an AI video my mom sent me a while ago about nostalgic Christmas things from years ago when the world wasn't as technologically advanced (i.e. when I was a kid). My grand distaste for AI video aside, it did get me thinking:

Finally finished reading this book and just. Wow. This was such a good read. Fantastic pacing, really great characters, and a story that just would not let go of me. I can't wait to read the next one in the series!

A book titled "Five Broken Blades" by Mai Corland is displayed prominently with a mild glare on the plastic coating.

Really considering joining the chorus of people who switched to Linux last year and and made videos about. I wouldn't make a long video, just something to share the little things that I REALLY love that Linux does better than Windows. Been using Nobara since October and I haven't regretted it.

I guess all I can say after all that rambling is: Please. Do your best to find tangible hope that's here in the present. If trees still grow, if clouds still form, if babies still coo, then there are reasons to hope and keep going. (P.S. Please know I'm not trying to shame anyone.)

So much of life is just finding the right balance in your own life. There are so many shades of gray, not just black and white. Nostalgia is a powerful drug and I dunno. It's fun to indulge in, but I really believe it hurts the heart and mind if someone stays in it.

-- want to go back so bad. I really try to live in the now and make the most of this time. But it legit weighs on my heart for the people who just think of "back then" as a golden time. We were kids. Of course it was simpler. We can find ways to keep growing up but not lose the inner child.

Some of my friends will send me videos and reels that are basically nostalgia bait pining for the lost era of the 90's and such. I really feel for them because I miss parts of it too. But honestly, it kind of hurts me when people send that stuff to me. We're so dissatisfied with now that we--

I was initially just asked to read news segment for this episode. One of the things @faulerro.bsky.social told me he wanted to do was designs for a fake Hanna-Barbera type Sonic cartoon using the original concept ideas. Needless to say, due to my fondness of HB stuff, I was inspired to do it first.

Just throwing this out there: A third party vote wouldn't be a "waste" if more people voted third party. Our two major parties have failed us over and over. We should explore other options while we still can. And if you vote 3rd party, good. Make your voice and distaste of things known.

I remember a couple of years ago, people printed out stickers of Biden pointing at gas prices saying, "I did that." Where are the stickers of Trump doing the exact same thing? Hypocrisy and double-standards are nothing new, but I just hate how people my age or twice my age can be so childish.
