The election I’m really worried about is for WI governor. We have a pretty good Supreme Court, but that doesn’t mean shit when folks can just appeal to DC. Really not a fan of living in a reality where the election of one state level politician can radically change how I interact in society.

I’m kind of sad that my journey with Trans related surgeries is over, and all I have left is hopefully stuff like a kidney transplant at some point. But I am extremely hopeful for that last one!

Before I transitioned, it was frustrating looking at timelines where it seemed someone went from sad dude, to the most beautiful person, seemingly overnight. It takes time. T-2 years till transition, 15 days HRT, one year HRT, two years HRT, three years HRT, and a little over four years HRT

For me, vocal training was one of the hardest parts of transition. It’s hard because it’s counterintuitive, because instinctively you think it’s about pitch, which it really isn’t. It’s all about resonance, cadence, and inflection. (for reference, this is how I open my shows). 👩‍🎤✨

I’m a musician, and all my voice training was for building a singing voice I could feel comfortable with, which resulted in my speaking voice. One of the hardest things to get at first, is that Pitch is maybe 15% of it, but resonance, cadence, and inflection are the ball game. I’m happy to help!

I’m learning a lot about the circulatory system right now. It’s beautiful in its symmetry, except for one thing. For some reason, the right common carotid artery branches from the brachial cephalic artery, while the left common carotid artery comes directly from the aorta. 🤷🏻‍♀️

There’s a lot stuff I’m still working through with my sexuality and that’s totally ok! I’ve been with my wife for 18 years, and so a lot of this is just academic, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to figure out more about who I am.
