Temu thinks they're winning by demanding that people give them access to a bunch of useless data through the app, but it's cost them hundreds from me being unable to buy hideously dangerous small vehicles from them.

I am cursed to do a bad juggling routine with all the hobbies anyone could ever have. Especially the ones that take way too much time

Regardless of everything else, you are back on the good poutine side of the border. Hopefully good things ahead.

I'm sure taking a neuroscientist who also appears to be on a Marvel movie role's worth of gear at face value is a good idea.

One of those days where every interaction is just fundamentally insulting and they keep fucking showing up for no reason. At some point you just gotta go, "Ah, so we're doing that now, huh? Interesting, interesting."

Deeply disturbing police brutality against an anti AI protest in Montreal, Canada a few weeks back. At this point, if you use AI and LLM, save the little white justifications you make to yourself. This is what you align with, like it or not. williamwilsonphotography.substack.com/p/montreal-p...

They're clearly, lately, desperate to use regulation to pull the ladder up behind them and now they're attempting to make as many people as possible regard them as fun little friends so they can go around screaming murder when they're told to stop fucking with people / pay their obscene debts.

The cozification of agentic slop is just astoundingly desperate. They're already under scrutiny for these things frying peoples' brains when they were just text. Now they're creating infantile imaginary friends in a way that previously only tertiary services did.

No worries, Lee here is texting Ryan to get his friend Kim's real phone number. Think maybe this person still thinks they've met me. Either way somewhat delighted at a genuine wrong number text in the year twenty twenty and six. Especially an out of town one.

Unsolicited spring rolls from San Fran. It's unfair of this person to accidentally text this to me specifically.
An image of pretty decent looking spring rolls.

Living blissfully at the other end of the spectrum, conjuring new superstitious expectations about how my rolls should work.

Horrific problem I've discovered lately. The more great artists I follow, the more stuff ends up in my feed from great artists I haven't followed yet.

This is a normal step in working on an IRL Kei truck project, right?
It's Donkey from Shrek sitting in the frame of a Suzuki Carry.

Is threads all reddit tier relationship drama or is it just being weird about what it filters into Instagram? I barely use insta, but every time someone pings me or something over there it sends me randos I don't know talking about dating shit without fail.

Jon Gregory @rocketpunches.cc · 25/09/2026
Any reasonable person would describe this type of shit as an attempted con. Full stop. It's not even pretending to be anything else. The goal is to try to trick people.

AAA's marketing / sales people should, unironically, be put in prison for the amount of horseshit they spam my house with that is designed explicitly to look like it is in some capacity an official government document of some sort.

Pompeii is a UNESCO world heritage site not because it was remarkable in its prime, but because it survived to our era untouched: one moment, preserved for all time. But future generations won't know what OUR world was like unless we do the same. This is why we MUST bury Toronto with a volcano

Paying for this shit at all is like walking up to a hotdog cart that gives you food poisoning every other time you eat there and buying another hotdog.

I have to interact with people who are bought in hard on a fairly regular basis, and idk what to even say to them man. This tech is the dog shittiest dog shit I've ever touched in my life and fails spectacularly every single time I get lazy enough to let it do anything.

Got a fun new scam email at work yesterday, trying to convince me that my ChatGPT sub failed to bill. (Work is Google aligned.) So now I've got theft, a bunch of interactions where I gave up fighting google search and let the Gemini integration answer wrongly, and a scam as my AI experience corpus.

I'd agree if the goal was to retool and reinvest in the series, lots of good developers without jobs right now if you wanted to rebuild what you trashed. But they're just hitting everything with a hammer until the numbers make sense to the C-suite. Hard to imagine that ever creates a good game.

I'm sorry man, even if BDS wasn't a thing, the idea that I would ever give Microsoft another cent is just pure obscenity at this point. This is a level of dysfunction and cruelty that only the industry's worst boondoggles have ever approached, and they're raising the bar on a daily basis.

The article in question is the type of classic puff piece you write to capitalize on something being popular without having to find a story. Just get "leadership" on the horn and lob softballs across the plate. There's literally nothing of substance in it.

Jon Gregory @rocketpunches.cc · 18/09/2026
Ah... The Blood of Dawnwalker gleefully used the slop bots and I missed it entirely... cool. Cool cool cool. It's great that engaging with anything is like navigating a minefield of people willing to casually exploit their peers.

You do realize the studio is part owned by NetEase and the game published by Bandai Namco, two companies with a combined $150b market cap, right?

Lol, come on man. This is so fucking disingenuous.
No, the comments here are responding to the Bluesky post (few people on here actually read the articles), which is framed differently than the story and is therefore careful to mention that they're Polish

As a film genre it consistently just doesn't matter if the writers have some purile worldview, because in order to make it compelling you can't sit around and pretend like all of this stuff is perfectly functional and producing perfect results. It'd make for a boring as shit show.
000
Jon Gregory @rocketpunches.cc · 17/09/2026
I know that there's undertones of the same stuff that makes cop procedurals nonsense in the broader category of thrillers that touch in the same area, but man I appreciate a show that's just like "here's all the dumb, childish, cruel ways governments are fucked up".

Baffling to me that people can do stuff like suggest the problem is that the environment is being harmed near humans and not that it's being harmed as a rebuttal without their brain shattering.

"They can be built offshore." Assertion of someone who does not actually care about what they're talking about, and just wants to make a point they think can't be easily refuted. As if putting a bunch of data centers in tidal water and dumping more heat into an ocean ecosystem is a solution.

Like congrats you made a low code thing where I can't work with variables directly ever and have to contrive nonsense workarounds to do things you learn by the time you're done with the "hello world" segment of any coding tutorial or course.

Why have I researched all day how to pre-populate a form with information based on a selection that is used to open it and not come away with any information on how to reasonably pass data around this nightmare factory of a solution? Why is it so hard to get a ref to stuff?

I've been tinkering with Google AppSheet for a project for the makerspace so we can make it easier to purchase supplies internally for members, and it remains wild to me how much harder to understand literally every low code / no code thing is to do than it would be to just code it.

Love going to the IRS' useless website and having it fail at every form of nonsensical verification it attempts to collect.

You'll end up in a scenario where walking away from something would save you 3 slices of the time bar, but doing something as simple as talking to someone costs you 3. It's not structured in a way the game can use dynamically. Just a very rough system all around, IMO.
000
Jon Gregory @rocketpunches.cc · 15/09/2026
It all seems to clash with the very open-ended, non-handholding, TW1 style approach. Like you're being punished for playing the game by being forced down a path, and it doesn't really do anything interesting with that or communicate well.

I now run off in the world to avoid the little radiant quest things. I walk away from start points constantly so I can assess where best to use my time. I've all but stopped regarding the skill tree as relevant.

Jon Gregory @rocketpunches.cc · 15/09/2026
The further I get into The Blood of Dawnwalker, the more I feel like they're way too heavy handed on the time stuff. It makes engaging with the world feel bad on a constant basis. Like I have 5 days worth of skill upgrades... that I just can't justify using. From a design perspective that sucks bad.

Weird how many different versions of kei stuff there are. I've been researching things for my Carry and I completely missed the Cara when I was reading up on the engine they all share to see what my options were for a replacement.

Actually, I'm wrong apparently. The Cappuccino is more Miata-like than I thought it was in my head. They all use the same powertrain as Suzuki put in everything though. So they're still closely related.

Big KH3 vibes for me. I immediately tilted when they decided to just shove Unreal Engine PBR into every setting. Some of it unironically hurt my soul.
