Ah, so... either this guy hasn't been paying attention to literally anything happening in games, or he thinks no one else has. Because, I guess, somehow, the thing that has happened at every level from Unknown Worlds, to Spiders, to Bungie and Arkane is magically not going to happen here.

During a recent interview with Game Developer, Playstack CEO and co-founder Harvey Elliott reiterated that it'll be a case of business as usual under IMC and TPG. ALERT: I've made a functional car in Godot. I repeat, I've made a functional car. (Currently working on adding some debug features so that I can better tell what's happening as I try to add in more detailed simulation forces.)

Alright #gamedev I am at a loss as to why, in Godot, this code makes my little car start flipping all over the place the second the raycasts encounter any bump.

A block of code, if it detects a hit it calculates the distance of a ray hit from origin, uses that to calculate a spring, calculates suspension force, stores the current length for the next tick, and then applies force to the parent at the position of the raycast origin. Otherwise it resets the current and last lengths.

A godot function that returns the distance between the raycast's collision point, which is provided in global space, and its global position.

A godot function, it calculates spring displacement as rest length minus the current length, spring velocity as the change in length from last tick to this tick, divided by time, the damper force as spring velocity times the damper stiffness value, and spring force as the spring displacement * the spring stiffness value. It returns the spring force plus the damper force times the normal of the collision.

After a few weeks of doing framing at Makerspace Charlotte and basically nothing else (except the stained glass D20) I am finally back on this 3D scene and slowly filling in details. Now featuring a maintenance hatch I found that looks like a little guy.

It's a sidewalk utility access hatch that looks like it's either having a bad time or a very cute time, idk

This is an absolutely diabolical diagram to find in a manual for an arcade cab. The only "parts" here being the entire assembly and a potentiometer is actually unhinged. There's wear components in there, and they're like "idk replace the whole thing".
