@gomessvv.bsky.social you seem to know a bit about Japanese cinema, does this manga page look familiar to you? It's part of a series of pages that references Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs before this and then The Graduate after this - so I'm pretty sure it's a reference to some movie set in 1960s

‼️Statement RE my suspension from the Greens. I was suspended for the 'crime' of being a trans woman who ran for a women's place. The "media interest" in my gender was cited as the sole reason for my suspension.

I can confirm that I have indeed been suspended from the Green Party. The only reason given for my immediate suspension is that I allegedly ‘brought the party into disrepute’ by choosing to run for a reserved female space on Green Party Council as a trans woman. In the Greens, suspensions are not a guilty verdict. I was not found guilty of breaking any rules whatsoever. The only actual disciplinary allegations against me are that I allegedly was rude to people on the internet, and that I ‘gossiped’. I was not suspended for any of this.

The only reason given for my IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION was: "EF’s recent election to GPC and the accompanying media interest”. I was suspended just 8 days after being elected, in a secret group chat discussion which included just 13 of the 36 members of GPC. My critics submitted 100 pages of transphobic articles as ‘evidence’, while I was banned from submitting anything in my defence and was not allowed to see the charges. There was no investigation.

Because I have not been found guilty of any disciplinary offences whatsoever, the only ‘appeal’ process for suspension involves asking Green Party Council to reverse their decision. This is something I have to do, so please do not email or harass any Council members. That is not going to help anybody, and I strongly discourage anyone from contacting GPC members individually. I do not want you to do that.

Suspension decisions can be reversed if GPC considers that there are ‘mitigating’ circumstances. This can include representations from other party members, submitted as part of the official process.

I have therefore set up an online form where fellow Green members can submit statements expressing support for me and defending me. Please put your name and local party so it is accepted by GPC.

It is my hope that with enough attention and support, GPC will hold a full meeting with a large turnout of all GPC members (rather than a small minority) that will overturn my suspension swiftly.

Very tangentially related to Dolly Parton, but I remember one of the early signs that Glinner was going to be become... what he has become... was that he got big mad on Twitter when he criticised the way Dolly looked over a decade ago and people told him to get fucked lol

I can't believe the amount of recent history revisionism in the UK. Response to Polish immigration was so severe that it successfully led to Brexit. BREXIT. And tanked British economy. This happened last decade, you can just Google it.

Post on X Remember in early 2000s thousands of Polish men immigrated over to UK cause their economy crashed but no one said fuck all cause they came to work, minded their own buisness an left our kids alone.....

Response Most Poles who emigrated to the UK in the early 2000s remember something completely different and photo of xenophobic graffiti

Question for scholars of video games - what was the first video game you know of to use the 'billboarding' technique of using pre-scaled sprites to create the impression of 3D space? I can push it back to 1984 with Lords of Midnight but I'm sure there must be earlier examples.
