TypeScript 7 is out, and faster than ever! How? By moving over to use #Golang instead of #Javascript under the hood. It's mostly backwards compatible, but with a few caveats. Take a look at the video posted by Microsoft and see the improvements running live. youtu.be/OytpXXeNmTQ?...

One after the other 🎉 I can keep calling myself a Microsoft MVP for at least another year. This is my sixth year now and this time I truly thought that I would not make the cut. Sometimes it is good to be wrong 😅 Thanks to Sopra Steria for letting me run around and share knowledge. #MVPBuzz

I spent last week at #CNSMunich and had the chance to hang out with the German community. Many great conversations, good people, and a well-organized conference! I even got the chance to meet some of my German colleagues at the Sopra Steria Munich offices. Looking forward to the next one!

OSS maintainers who give you software for free are allowed to use any tool they want (and generally run things the way they prefer); unless you're literally paying their salaries, you don't get a say in the matter.

Another internal conference, but this time it is open for friends. This concept is really cool: one conference hosted at all our locations in Norway at the same time. I will be speaking in Oslo about how to get the most out of your terminal and start living a text-based life. Wanna nerd with me? 🤓

This year's #KubeConEU will be a hectic one. Rejects on Saturday, Maintainer Summit on Sunday, Platform Engineering day (and more) on Monday, and then the conference starts. Combined with after-parties, visiting partners, and networking? It might be the most hectic week in 2026.

Meta announced today that it also wants to introduce ads on WhatsApp, which will be based on personal data from Facebook and Instagram. This further integrates WhatsApp into other Meta services - an originally independent app, which initially was available for just $1 per year without ads or data usage. This also means that Meta is consolidating its social networking monopoly. EU law was actually supposed to prevent this."

When people say things like “just focus”, as if ADHD is something one can just turn off. We can focus, but it requires much more energy than most others, and that energy quickly runs out. If the only tip you have is to “focus”, then you might as well not say anything.

Complex solutions are often chosen over simpler ones, even when unnecessary. While complexity is sometimes needed, Complexity Bias can make us overlook easier paths. Reflect on your choices and choose less resistance when possible, recognizing multiple solutions exist.

The idea that if something does not work for you, then it must be wrong for everyone, baffles me. I have seen so many articles that claim they know best because their team did not succeed. There is a reason why the most uttered answer by a consultant is "it depends".
