Bizarre that nobody at the brewery or marketing agency seems to have noticed that the label says “Otztoberfestbier”. It was like that last year too.

If anyone is wondering what the new Tennent’s Stout tastes like, it tastes like nitro stout. It is a bit sweeter and more chocolately than Guinness and slightly less acidic.

Shocked and saddened that the nearly 500 year old Brauerei Neder in Forchheim is threatened with closure. Something must be done.

One thing that's missing from these retro brands is blackletter type. Incredibly common up until the 1960s and then fell off a cliff. www.taverntrove.com/imagecache/o...

How the as-splice creates misleading headlines. In fact the train cancellations and evacuations happened several hours before any building collapse. @bbcnews.bsky.social

A surprise to me – “Luftmalz” (lit. air malt), unkilned malt, wasn’t necessarily dried in the sun as I had imagined, but could be taken straight from the malting floor for immediate use. If you make your own malt, it doesn't have to be completely dried or stored.

It's a 45km round trip and the gradients look quite something. You'd definitely work off the beer.

For modern sensibilities one of the weirdest things about the 19th century is that if you went somewhere and stayed in a hotel, your name and profession would be printed in the local newspaper.
