Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Remembering that one time I told a coworker (~10 years younger than me) my favorite candy bar was Payday and without missing a beat turned to me and said "I didn't know you were 70" 130

Reposted by KirstinAidan Clarke @cranchyroll.com · 24/09/2026The Delinquent and the Transfer Student volume 2 is out now! I adore this series, and lettering it was a huge challenge. I'm incredibly proud of the results, and wake to display some comparisons of the Japanese and English lettering. Here are some, with more in the thread below! 6269105
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 24/09/202620. Final Fantasy VI Been a long time since I revisited this absolute all timer. Still absolutely fantastic today as it always has been! 000

Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 22/09/2026I'm definitely on the hard opposite end, I loved this series to pieces. Easy 10/10, favorite anime to come out this year. An easy Yuri all timer for me personally. Not that we have a lot of good Yuri anime to begin with but, y'know. 110

Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Goodbye, Lara was in fact, a 10/10 anime. Amazing story and characters, an easy recommend, definitely a top Yuri series as well. I had high hopes going into it, and it just never let me down. :) 020

Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 07/09/2026Dude this game got ghost cows??? As if I wasn't already sold 👻 000
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I finished the main story last night! And now, into the prequel. This follows Machika's grandfather who raised her, and him meeting the immortal man Rain for the very first time and what would eventually lead to Machika chasing after him. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 03/09/2026The final volume! But I'm gonna follow up with the additional content after I finish this reread. The last and thickest volume in the series, and definitely another favorite cover of mine. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 03/09/2026The small little interactions in this series always get me too. Drying her hands on his jacket ugh. Precious. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 03/09/2026The only cover to feature Sharem, beloved badass business woman. Probably my second favorite cover art. She's literally perfect. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Machika is like. So much of everything I love in female characters. And just so fuckin cool. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026The entire final 3 volumes are just very tense for me. Even knowing what's going to happen I love these characters and everything they're willing to do and sacrifice. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Baby machika you're perfect and adorable even though you're just eating leaves 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I'm certainly not fluent enough in Japanese to read the entire thing (my kanji is greatly lacking in particular) but I like the bits and pieces I can read. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026After waiting so long I realized I could take action and just buy the manga in Japanese. This was really the first time I'd ever messed with Japanese manga in person and the sheer quality difference was impressive. Also I love, love, love the Japanese logo for the series. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026The end of the final volume released in English haunted me. One of the biggest cliffhangers and climaxes and I sat around, waiting, hoping, but it never came. And tokyopop went defunct. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Ozaki's art style just gets stronger and stronger as the series went on. So many faces that just say so much and mean the world to me. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026We love a girl in her own head making up fantasies actually. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026There's not tons of time spent on the entirety of the side casts past, but I like the little glimpse at the beginning of those volume for Eury. He's a cocky little shit, but he loves his siblings. I'd have taken a million spin offs for every character. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026The final volume released in English. I've actually bought 2 of these cause my first one got badly damaged. Of course, it was well after it was out of print which sucked. Still glad to have a clean copy. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Machika you're the light of my life. Another cute face of hers I always remember. Also her saying jackholes. I always wondered if there was a typo cause like what. One character's name is also misspelled in this volume, overall QA was a little rough. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026The cute simple little seal mascot for the beginning portion I always loved it's sooo cute. Just a little dude with a bowtie 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026This might be my favorite cover art. It's the most sweet and cozy too, and I just love Machika's outfit. For someone who comes off a bit like a tomboy she does love adorable fem clothes, but she always came across as someone who needs something easy to move in too. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026When tokyopop went out of business the first time they took everything down with them and we suffered... But yayy!! I picked up the missing Japanese release for myself as well cause I wanted to own it all too, eventually I'll buy the rest in japanese to have a full set. 110
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026It's a harder one to find these days because it's long out of print in English 😭 i keep hoping someone else will pick it back up to relocalize again but we'll see! 110
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Maybe because it's also a shoujo series, I appreciate how often the characters change outfits. Machika is cute in every single one of them. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026There's not a single character in this cast I dislike. I havent talked about more than the protags, but they're all very well written. Their names also make them stand out a lot. Ayla, Eury, Sharem.. one even has the name Ys, which I didn't know how to pronounce until I discovered the game series. 220
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Whenever I daydreamed about the series getting an anime I always thought about this scene. A dirigible with giant screens, playing a music video fitting the scene. It was too glorious and epic to NOT get an anime, surely. It never came to be. But Ozaki did actually share short animations on her site 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026This was the first series I remember constantly checking for every time we went to a book store. I investigated the tokyopop website to find glimmers of info on release. And picking up this volume felt like I had been revitalized. The series just kept getting better while I fell in love more n more 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026More panels that simply live in my head at all times. Immaculate 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026A reoccurring theme throughout the series is life, death, and second chances. Seeing how characters tackle these painful roadblocks and learn from them. Try to take the chances they're given. You see a lot of that starting in vol 5 where there's an entire year time skip to start. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026The fourth volume is where I feel like Ozaki's art style really starts to shine and it's the closest to what her style is like today. I just love how she draws faces. Also her designs for monsters are really cool and creepy too. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I always remember this artwork cause it was used for vol 1 of the French release of Immortal Rain. I was actually surprised the French release kept the English localized name too, not sure why but I guess it ended up sticking. Immortal Rain is a very literal title, but Meteor Methuselah is so cool. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Another cute Machika that lives rent free. When I was in high school I actually saw someone cosplaying her at a con, but I was way too shy to ask to get a photo. I always regret it cause I'm sure very few others had read the series and they probably would have been happy to be recognized. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026When this series goes into action mode my brain locks in. It just feels very good to read and look at. Easy to follow and detailed without being overbearing. Not overly abundant but so satisfying. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026This would also be my reaction if a hot woman hopped out of a vent in front of me. Also this series was hugely influential in inspiring clothing design for a lot of my art around this age. 120
Kirstin @robobat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026This manga is more deeply ingrained in me than I realize sometimes. I enjoy going up to friends or loved ones and just poking them in the back like this and catching them off guard. Weird silly habit cause it made me laugh. 120
