I don't care if you do include a head swap based on the deleted ending, NECA. This "Ultimate Figure" will never be complete without a Busta Rhymes figure to accompany it. #iykyk #halloweenresurrection

I feel like such a nerd for admitting this, but I've been using the Tennant floor scrubber at the warehouse so often that I've put together a playlist for it. And guess which three songs are first on the list? That's right- Terran 1, 2, and 3 from Starcraft. youtu.be/-mzfnUIdzq4?...

Just for the record, this is actually a really good, if pretty loose adaptation of the first New Avengers arc by Brian Michael Bendis. It's just that this amazingly dense line stood out to me so much that I spent a good chunk of my lunch break replaying the scene so I could try and understand it.

"I don't know, randomly permute the variables using an adaptive genetic factor. Try gray-coding the thing to prevent premature convergence. Implement Strassen's Algorithm for matrix multiplication while using a linear timefind max subarray crossing procedure." Worst technobabble ever. #newavengers

"Bob infused his dual identity character with his own attributes: goodness, kindness, generosity, intelligence, integrity, courage, purity of spirit, a love of all mankind." Apparently humility wasn't among those traits.

Ever try Freedom Force? It's available for a pittance on GoG, and still holds up as a tactical superhero squad RPG.

By B/W coloring, I mean that Force Works has pencils/inks, whereas Doom's IV was fully colored by Extreme Studios, but I had to tint them grayscale for the printer.

000

Rob Malone @robmalone2099.bsky.social · 29/06/2025

I do find it kind of hilarious how Linkara described a sad image of someone make copies of Doom's IV during his review, and then in a weird way, I became that person. The Force Works ashcan has B/W coloring, but the Doom's IV book has a lot more behind the scenes material and fully colored heroes.

Rob Malone @robmalone2099.bsky.social · 29/06/2025

Made a pair of custom ashcans of 90s books so I could have a physical reference for my own preview books: specifically Force Works and Doom's IV #1/2. I know ashcans are sometimes old hat, but I feel it really goes help me develop my craft and short story skills- like Kyle Higgins suggested.

I felt the same way when I blew our cover by accident in a Days of Future Past campaign. Hearing the GM describe how the roof opened up and the innocent refugees we were getting to know got flash fried into skeletons still shakes me to my very core when I think about it.

William Hootkins also did a great job as Post-Crisis Lex Luthor in both this and 1990's "Adventures of Superman" drama- especially when he slips between the phony Australian accent and back into his bloodcurdling glee. youtu.be/vCvDKmXy8BY?...

Plus getting to work at an Amazon data center again has been great for helping me get over my hang-up over keycards and high-security areas.😬 We had some issues at one point with an exit, but that was just because my visitor badge accidentally expired early- and it didn't get us in trouble. Phew!😤

Been zig-zagging around the Herndon/Sterling area while the electrical company looks for places to put us red-hats to good use. On one hand, it's putting my adaptability to the test... but since we've got an extra hour of sleep back (showing up to work at 6AM instead of 5), I'll happily take it.

No Trickster/Pied Piper, no Monarch/Forerunner building an army, no Superman Prime killing people, no Kyle Rayner, no Morticoccus Virus killing Earth 51, no Duela Dent or Monitor Bob, no scenes of the Monitors doing nothing, and no references to Amazons Attack. Darkseid still sits on a couch, tho.

Recently finished listening to 52's adaptation by Graphic Audio, now moving on to Countdown- one of the most infamous messes in the history of DC Comics. I already know it's less bad because it cuts certain things out like in 52, but how much did Greg Cox improve the book? That's what I wanna know.

Rob Malone @robmalone2099.bsky.social · 31/03/2025

I know they're releasing the New 52/Zero Issue costume as a Platinum, but the green highlights and his enormous cape are what really make Icon stand out from a crowd. I do hope they're passing the savings from the mold reuse onto a more unique Milestone mold like Hardware or Rocket. Give us a set!

000

Rob Malone @robmalone2099.bsky.social · 31/03/2025

Yes, all of the episodes are still LISTED on their website, but I don't see a pricetag or any option to access/download the full files. You'd think they could make a fair bit of cash by bundling them together into a full "2000 A.D. Mega Collection" that lasts as long as your average Turtledove book.

000

Rob Malone @robmalone2099.bsky.social · 31/03/2025

Really cheesed off to see the excellent Judge Dredd #2000AD audio series by #bigfinish vanish off the face of the earth from Internet Archive. Unless the rights holders are planning to RE-RELEASE them in a more convenient and accessible format (ie: Audible), then it's essentially digital erasure.

Also met up with Mervyn McKoy of Paper Lab Studios (who does great concept art), Chris Sprouse (Artist on Moore's much-celebrated Supreme run), and fellow TTRPG gamer Tini Howard (who signed my Marvel Civil War RPG book, since it's apparently her favorite as well!). Green Lantern: Sleepers in particular rankles me because I absolutely LOVE what Priest and his cowriters did with the characters in this trilogy! 💯 Everyone has tons of personality- from supers like Hal, Star Sapphire, Jade, and Alan Scott, to "minor" characters like Irene Miller or Albert Dekker.

It's kind of absurd how hard it is to get ahold of the #dccomics Graphic Audio Dramas compared to Marvel. I can find Days of Future Past and Planet Hulk easily on Audible, but great stuff like No Man's Land, 52, and Green Lantern: Sleepers? I have to buy a Google Drive link from a 3rd party website.

Just listened to Graphic Audio's version of Batman: No Man's Land, adapted by @gregrucka.com and #dccomics. It's a really well-written and voice-acted two-parter, though that also means the combined story is eleven hours. "A Movie in Your Mind", my ass- this was like binging an entire TV season!

Found this obscure pic of Jack Kirby's Female Furies by John K Snyder III. Been working on a pitch for a miniseries featuring Darkseid and Granny Goodness' shock troops, and this piece really captures the vibe I was going for: a fearsome five-woman force of nature forged by the fires of Apokolips.
