Considering the title was "Is 'Ending Roe' Over?" imma say its a little dated. But this was her part:

Sometimes the biggest part of being a leader is knowing you aren't enough. And that is why I am so happy to announce @wawchealth.bsky.social has moved to a co-Executive Director model, and I adore my new partner...

Everything is kinda terrible but watching my cat try to catch lizards through the picture window remains a delight…
Tiny calico on hind legs stretching tall on a large wall sized window with white paneled wood frame and small stained glass leaves scattered across. The surrounding wall is yellow wood, the table she stands on is dark wood and has three ivy plants all in various bushy sizes. Kitten is desperately reaching for the tree branches in the other side of the glass.

SpaceX may have teased AI prototype to investors pre-IPO
Edited by Megan McDonough, Editor at LinkedIn News

According to The Wall Street Journal, citing anonymous sources, SpaceX showcased an early prototype of a handset-like AI device to the company's investors ahead of its blockbuster IPO. Slimmer than an iPhone, the device incorporates technology from Musk's AI company, xAI, and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, The Journal's sources said. However, SpaceX founder Elon Musk denied the report on social media, calling it "utterly ‌false." The report comes as other AI giants like OpenAI race to develop an AI-driven successor to the smartphone.

got an alert that my copy of @megelison.bsky.social's new book was shipped. Went to google to double check if today was publication day. Was told this book does not exist...
Google ai autoresponse at top of pages states:
Foundling Fathers
Book by Meg Elison
"Foundling Fathers" is not a known book by Meg Elison; the correct term is Founding Fathers, referring to the American leaders who established the United States, such as Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin, who were instrumental in the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War, and the Constitution. While there's no book by that title by Elison, the term itself refers to the key figures who founded the nation, though the exact list varies, and modern scholarship acknowledges their flaws, like slave ownership, and the contributions of women ("Founding Mothers").

that works out to just under $770,000 per job...
Amazon ceo bragging about all their investment in North Carolina and how many jobs they have created: Amazon has invested more than $20 billion in North Carolina and created over 26,000 jobs across the state. Today we're building on that with a multibillion-dollar agreement with Corning Incorporated to produce the optical fiber that powers our data centers.

This investment will create 1,000 new advanced manufacturing jobs at Corning’s North Carolina facilities, support hundreds of construction roles to expand operations, and establish a workforce training program with Catawba Valley Community College to prepare people for careers in fiber optics and fusion splicing.

It’s so telling when they say they are only trying to bring in an OB once a week because there’s nothing around, otherwise they wouldn’t do prenatal care. You would think you would have to offer prenatal care to be considered a “pregnancy center.” www-cbsnews-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.cbsn...
By December 2024, more than two years after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned nationwide abortion rights in its Dobbs decision, Idaho had lost a third of its OB-GYNs. 7B is expanding, with the goal of bringing obstetric care back to Sandpoint. The organization plans to add to its current building once it's paid off, Shepard said, and it's in talks with a hospital about 30 miles away in Washington state to bring in an OB-GYN once a week to provide prenatal care.

If obstetric care existed now in Sandpoint, Shepard said, "we wouldn't even be considering" the expanded services. "But there's such a need. And our community suffers because of it."

So these two statement totally contradict each other. www.wvua23.com/news/man-acc...
"Taylor was determined by investigation, as well as his own statements, to have symptoms of mental illness. He'd been dropped off at the hospital earlier in the day at his request, reporting that “he needed help.” Taylor did not enter the hospital after being dropped off, VCU said; he loitered about the DCH campus for several hours before suddenly engaging in the assaults.

DCH Health System Vice President of Marketing and Communications Rick Plummer said Taylor was on the DCH campus for a few minutes before he left and came back an hour and a half later. The shooting happened a few minutes after he returned to the DCH campus. "

Adventures in trying to run a free and sliding scale clinic: a real live email I just sent our electronic records management company a few minutes ago.... And people wonder why I don't sleep anymore.
Hi, I know this is getting resolved and that as always I need to wait another month but I just want to make sure it is VERY clear how my clinic has been impacted by the drag out of not ending the unused coding/billing upgrade we asked to stop back in November.

This month our bill jumped $1000 over what we had been paying the last few, and it was entirely due to $5 per patient fees added to our cost for a service that wasn't being used and we repeatedly said we did not want. And on our end, a majority of those patients yall charged over were Medicaid patients paying us a $2.99 copay for services that we would not be reimbursed for because we have only just now gotten approval for Medicaid reimbursement for the providers who saw them.

I 100% understand Athena is a for profit business. Truly, I do. I am not. I am a person doing everything I can to try to help people address their health concerns now before they end up in hospitals later. Because of that we see patients even though we will get little to no reimbursement because their lives have a worth that massively outweighs financial gains.

Our clinic received a total of less than $7000 of insurance reimbursements for that month. More than one third of that will now go to covering our EMR fees. Please get this resolved before our next invoice, I beg you.

Well that’s an ad I’ve never seen on news sites before…
New page with ad for “baby boxes” - a safe surrender program for pregnant people to anonymously abandon their newborns. Boxes are proliferating across the country but few people use them as most people who give birth keep and parent their child so instead this encourage s hiding a pregnancy and avoiding medical care.

There are no Planned Parenthoods in Louisiana because they closed them over a year ago...
SPOTLIGHT

U.S. SUPREME COURT FURTHER ERODES BLACK VOTER POWER IN LOUISIANA, AGAIN WEAKENING DEMOCRACY: Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court once again undermined the rights of Black voters — this time in the state of Louisiana — further weakening democracy.

“One of the most fundamental tenets of our democracy is the freedom to vote — and have our votes count fairly,” Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, said. “Once again, the Supreme Court has discarded that freedom, instead giving politicians permission to suppress Black voters and make their votes less powerful in Louisiana — and greenlighting other states to do the same. Discrimination demands action — as does democracy. This is not the end of this fight. We will continue to demand fair representation.”

Here’s a pretty low key one I just got a minute ago. It gives you the flavor. Most of them are up to $1m. The rates range from 2% to 8% so way under standard business loans.
Hi Robin,

I recently came across West Alabama Womans Center's website and noticed you specialize in reproductive health services for individuals seeking pregnancy and sexual health support.

Just reaching out because we help healthcare businesses like yours get the funding you need when your bank says “no”, without the high costs of most online lenders.

We recently helped a similar client in the healthcare space obtain $275k in funding in just 24 hours after they were rejected by their bank, and we’ve helped many other businesses like yours.

screengrab of job posting for fertility company. Reads: Cofertility is a Series A company focused on the fast-growing field of fertility and family planning. We are a human-first fertility ecosystem rewriting the egg freezing and egg donation experience. Through Cofertility Freeze, women can freeze their eggs for free when they donate half of the retrieved eggs to a family who can’t otherwise conceive.
