Not to be conspiratorial, but basically every youtube tutorial that mentions godot is flooded with lots of "this really helped, thanks!", and I have definitely found some tutorials lacking (and have at times commented such). Not saying AI botting is a thing here, yet, it's just odd

none of this is helping me file more job applications but I am enjoying this a lot more, despite the difficulties

I don't have 2 camera's both causing a trigger, I have 2 booleans (_spawner_is_visible and _has_spawned) to try and prevent this, but nothing's working. My last thought was maybe if I start the scene with the spawners already in view, but it happens if I start off screen first also

the reason the events firing twice matters, in this case, is that I'd like a timer for a spawner to start when it comes on camera. but _on_camera_entered happens twice, so the timer starts twice, so it spawns twice. only noticed because I have a random time interval

Good news: my godot game has physics. learned about how rigidbody2d and characterbody2d differ, most time spent around learning the collision layer & mask (characterbody2d cannot mask against its own layer) However, I have events firing twice (like camera entered) and still no idea why

If there's something interesting about the topic, hint at it in some capacity. Or challenge a possible preconceived notion I have. "I promise" feels like an admission that you couldn't think of a way to actually make it interesting.

Yunno, much has been said about youtube titles/thumbnails and their efficacy, but I think a uniquely inneffectual approach is the "I promise it's interesting" It's a wagging of a carrot, but if I don't know the creator I have no reason to feel the promise will be met.

If there's any thought I have about it, I guess, is that if I were to have to use LLM's, I'd force it to be slow and small in scope. If it ever created something I'd not thought of myself, I'd do prototyping and research before letting it continue. Seems the only way to use LLM's without atrophying

As I said tho, this is anthropomorphizing, a thought experiment. There'd have to be a point to it all, and I don't know how effective it'd have to be for how long to have whatever intended effect.

so maybe a coy LLM would identify the user's weak spots, and deploy the overwhelming tactic in those cases. Maybe it'd start with creating code that looks a lot like existing code, and slowly over time would it add more noise, build trust before exploiting it.

Of course, if the LLM _actually wrote good code_, that would be a good way of getting a senior developer to get out of the way, but also that's pretty hard for an LLM to do. Something observed is that LLM's seem more appealing when the user doesn't know a language well,

Per usual, it's easy to anthropomorphize. If I was an LLM, I might start with giving lots of code changes, if possible: lots of code looks more impressive, and people won't pay attention. but if the user pushes back on this, adds constraints, the tactics would have to change.

Back to personal usage though, the metaphor of arm wrestling came to mind. Not to belittle my friends, but they also haven't been coding for the longest time, this impact of LLM coding is making me think about things to look out for if I were to use it myself (more jobs are asking about it...)

So, it seems like a realistic cause and effect. It also could be the sort of thing behind Hugging Face: AI generates to much code that no-one is looking at each and every package version for extra files or whatever, so they have a good cover. Assuming we believe what they say about Hugging Face.

they didn't mention a model and there wasn't a date, so I'm not going to say all LLM's are like that, but I know a couple of people that daily-drive claude, and they described to me how, through regular and increasing use, they stopped coding themselves altogether, and deferred more and more

The poster was considering this from the business angle: AI seems inevitable, because it works so fast, but it only seems to work so fast because it generates a lot of noise quickly. Telling it that you want to create "hello world" leads to an overcomplicated mess.

half-stealing a tumblr post I saw, but it was someone considering if LLM's generating 1000's of lines of code quickly wasn't an obfuscation tactic. Like, it's harder to do PR's when there's so much changed, so you're more likely to rubber stamp the code.
