Poppy pressed the "Music" button, so I put music on. Then she pressed "Snack" but she'd just eaten so I ignored it. She was insistent til I said, "Wait, you want Me to eat?" Slow-blink. She watched me prep my breakfast w/ music on, then went upstairs to nap, satisfied I was properly looked after.

I love how photography teaches me to pay attention to nuance. I always liked the moon, always appreciated it in the sky, but spending a month earlier this year taking nightly moon photos made me notice how it moves around the sky, and how the angles of the sun cast shadows across its craters.

It really drew my attention to how intertwined the concepts of "nature" and "peaceful" are in my preconceptions. Having beautiful woodlands and copious wildlife co-existing with constant 60-decibel white noise felt incongruous.
