Good news, everyone! Stephen is back from the ER
BACK FROM ER

We got home last night. I was battling a virus that dehydrated me, causing difficult symptoms. My docs told me to go to ER to make sure I wasn’t in kidney rejection.

There was some inflammation around my kidney but the kidney itself is fine and functioning well.

A fun detail: Poirot repeatedly describes the Macho Jesus his leetle grey cells dreamed up as like a “Mustang.” You might think this is merely weird and homoerotic, but it’s actually linked to a bit of misinformation evangelicals like to use to retcon Jesus as a high-T alpha male.

I appreciate this direct rebuke, by Trump-appointee Judge Brown, of both an illegal ICE arrest *and* ICE's illegal attempts to excuse it. This is practically ICE's standard operating procedure: the behavior of an unaccountable, lawless federal army. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
Agents allegedly arrested petitioner based on a physical description and
photograph of one target. Yet the description disproves the match: the target was five
inches shorter and 80 pounds lighter than the petitioner. As to the photograph, the team
leader acknowledged upon cross-examination that “it’s very easy to see they’re two
different people.” Trying to legitimize petitioner’s arrest, ICE issued a post-hoc sworn
administrative warrant containing false information and later issued a Notice to
Appear. At the hearing, the officers proffered inconsistent, false and misleading
testimony.
The result is troubling: compelling evidence here belies the ICE agents’ reflexive
invocation of misidentification as an excuse for erroneous arrests. Particularly
problematic in this case, the evidence suggests that ICE attempted to support their
unsupported misidentification argument through false or misleading documentation
and testimony. The claims of misidentification here prove baseless, the arrests were
procedurally deficient and legally invalid, and ICE agents falsified official records
trying to conceal their illegal actions, which included significant injury to a U.S. citizen.
The arrest and detention of petitioner were illegal. The petition must be granted.
Furthermore, given the false testimony and records supplied to the Court and the other
matters revealed, further action must be considered.

This is one for the books. It's not the whole story of the Trump era, but it's a perfect little lesson in collaboration. Everyone involved except the defense and the judge used the power of the state to charge a plainly innocent man because the president is so weak he can't admit his own screw up

Renee Good's family filed two lawsuits today. The first, against, USG, is a standard wrongful death. The second is a Klan Act lawsuit against Jonathan Ross, AND STEPHEN MILLER and Greg Bovino. It names Nick Shirley and Christopher Rufo as non-party co-conspirators for their racist propaganda.
44. At all relevant times, Defendants Ross, Miller, Noem, Lyons, Homan,
Bovino, and the John Doe Federal Agents acted under color of federal law and within the
scope of a joint enterprise with the private actors described below. Defendant
Lewandowski acted in part under color of federal law and in part, as alleged below, as a
private person, his federal status having been limited to a temporary part-time designation
that his conduct exceeded. Shirley, Rufo, and Ben Bergquam, and the other non-party
private actors described below, agreed to and in fact participated in the conspiracy alleged
here: each acted in concert with, and with the knowledge and encouragement of, federal
officials.

For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing
Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.
