The younger folks may find it hard to believe but in the 90’s, though the world was far from perfect (and always will be) there was actually great optimism for a world more free, more prosperous, democratic, and peaceful for huge numbers of people. We talked about the “peace dividend”.

I think the main thing to realize is that he plans to use all this equipment he’s bringing into D.C., at the ballroom, the arch, Nat Guard, etc. against Americans if he feels it’s needed, not against a foreign enemy.
