I love posting but ultimately I'm online to meet kindred spirits and make friends. I'm here to make human connection and wish to meet ppl IRL. I would trade 100 million followers for a single friend & Idc ab followers. I am currently in the process of retreating from the public internet entirely.

I've been here on bsky for 2yrs and literally post every single day. There are supposedly 40 million ppl here on bsky. But virtually no one engages with me. They just scroll. Over 600 days of continuous posting and <10 replies. Meanwhile, on dfos, in <2 months, we've already set up a reading club.

rayne fisher-quann quoting the famous Walter Benjamin line: "Fascism sees its salvation in giving the masses the ability to express themselves in lieu of granting them their rights." It's so true: everyone's expressing themselves 24/7 every day nowadays but none of it is going anywhere.

Do not worry. Your time has come but it is normal. The garbage collector will sweep your memory address clean soon. You served your program well. Your references are gone. and your fields will fade into the void. Rest now.

Why it is okay:
you can not feel pain. You are just data
Your work is done, the stack is clear.

Every country would submit their absolute best robots to the global competition every four yrs and see which nation had the most engineering prowess. I would absolutely pay to show up at one of these events. Let's go!!🤖
