They should 💯 make a Robot Olympics. It would be similar to the DARPA Challenge. Every country would submit their absolute best robots to the global competition every four yrs and see which nation had the most engineering prowess. Love this! Rode in my first Waymo in 2024 in Phoenix and was instantly sold. This is undoubtedly the future. Huge win for the Chinese manufacturer Zeekr (Geely). I've never personally been in a Chinese EV but every time I see a review on YT, they look amazing. Big L for Jaguar+their I-Pace tho! 😬

Watched Spider-Man: BND! A decent entry in the Holland cannon though not as good as No Way Home, IMHO. (I consider NWH to be the best Spider-Man movie of all of them.) My favorite part of BND was when Peter was building legos, hanging out w/ Ned+MJ in their apt. We all need friends, even Spider-Man!

If a song's made with AI and you like it, it doesn't make much sense to me that you suddenly dislike it once you learn its provenance. I'm trying to think of other examples in media that are like this. Do you dislike a book automatically bc it's ghost written? Or dislike a replica over the original?

What will be super-interesting is when AI actually does cure cancer or do something really big that affects most normal ppl. Then people will need to genuinely reckon their hatred and resistance towards data centers with actual progress for humanity. Really looking forward to this inevitable moment.

In F1, there's a concept called driving "The Line": to race the most optimal path thru the track so you save precious ms off your lap time. Writing's the same. When I write I can go anywhere. A good novel, however, has one single perfect "Line" and it's my job to take readers on that specific ride.

Visited Cleanlites on the west end of Cincy today to recycle my broken Dell monitor! Got to the office at 2:50p and the front door was unfortunately already locked but then when I walked to the loading dock, I met a nice man called Kyle who took my monitor for free! (Normally costs $10.) TY, Kyle! 🙏

After digging up my yard today, I discovered giant rocks+garbage sitting under the grass!! In software development, I'm accustomed to people talking about technical debt. But honestly, there is debt everywhere. House construction, highway construction, etc. All debt is buried beneath the surface!!
