Meanwhile in NY, Shani Wallis's performance in A Time for Singing, a 1966 flop musical adaptation of How Green Was My Valley got her the role of Nancy in Oliver! (she played the same role Maureen O'Hara played in the film) A Time for Singing lasted 41 performances.

17-year-old Sheila White so impressed the creatives of the 1966 British musical On the Level that they wrote a charm song for her and it proved an enormous showstopper. On the Level lasted 118 performances, but "Bleep-Bleep" led directly to Sheila getting cast as Bet in the film version of Oliver!
