Rob Dodson @robdodson.me · 30/06/2026Thank you! Since it’s using an on-device model I wanted to keep the core experience free, but I was thinking of adding a recipe/meal planner that I might charge a small fee for. But honestly Im just happy if folks enjoy the app 😁 010
Rob Dodson @robdodson.me · 30/06/2026I made a little iPhone app that uses the on-device model to sort your shopping list by aisle. Paste in a big list, add stores, tweak aisles to match your store’s layout, and share lists with your household. Nice for starting at one end and working your way across :) apps.apple.com/us/app/lettu...apps.apple.comLettuce Know App - App StoreDownload Lettuce Know by Rob Dodson on the App Store. Rob Dodson @robdodson.me · 28/02/2026Great write up. I was very excited to use dialog but quickly hit many of the issues mentioned here, especially with third party dependencies (dropdown menus, tooltips, toasts) breaking and no ability to animate. Eventually had to throw in the towel and switch back to portals 😕 040

Rob Dodson @robdodson.me · 17/02/2026It started mostly as an experiment to see if I liked using it from my phone, so I didn't want to scrap Obsidian Sync if it turned out I didn't like it. Now that I have it all set up I've been thinking of switching to alternatives. But the speed and ease of Obsidian Sync is really nice... 100

Rob Dodson @robdodson.me · 22/07/2025Mozilla, or someone like them, should come out with an open source model trained on actual public domain and voluntary data, to compete against OpenAI/Anthropic/Google/xAI. There is a huge prevailing sense of malaise at the concentration of power in a handful of private AI companies. 2134
