Palm Island is the Game of the Week! Develop tools, trade, and build buildings, all without putting down the deck of cards. It's fidgety, in that it's addictive to play around with! Extremely difficult to put down.
A collage of images of the game Palm Island, designed by Jon Mietling: a game in progress showing 2 cards with actions and costs on them, with some cards offset to the side showing wood and stone resources; a closeup of a volcano eruption on a card; the box for the game showing a chain of islands; an array of villagers that can be recruited during the game; a doodle on a sticky note of a palm tree, but instead of a normal trunk, the wood is a giant hand.

Catch the Moon is the Game of the Week! If there's one thing you want to be predictable in life, it's gotta be ladders. But these bad boys move in ways you'll never expect, making this dexterity game way wilder than initially presented.
A collage of images of the game Catch the Moon, designed by Fabien Riffaud and Juan Rodriguez: a wooden die showing a crescent moon and ladders on its faces. The die is surrounding by blue raindrop markers; the box showing a wild stack of ladders breaking through the clouds, stretching towards the moon; a purple sticky note doodle that mimics the box art, minus the ladders; a jumble of brown wooden ladders tangled above a white cloud platform.

Back to back Lapp attack! That's Not A Hat is the Game of the Week! It's so incredibly simple, but the giggles cannot lie about how fun this game is.
A collage of images of the game That's Not A Hat, designed by Kasper Lapp and illustrated by Easy Draws It: an array of the simple black illustrations of everyday objects like a clock, headphones, a chicken leg, a sock, and a tub of popcorn; the bright pink box that shows a black and white traffic cone; a pink sticky note doodle showcasing many of the things in the game and arrows scattered throughout; the top card of the deck shows a record player and each player has a facedown card in front of them that shows an arrow that points left or right.

Magic Maze: Maximum Security is the Game (expansion) of the Week! Dodge sensors, guards, and a mustachioed Beholder to steal your weapons from the magical mall. I'm testing out a few different ways to play solo since the standard version... isn't great.
A collage of images of the game Magic Maze with the expansion Maximum Security, designed by Kasper Lapp and illustrated by Gyom: a purple pawn with an invisibility ring around it near a black guard pawn; a yellow pawn in a room that has a sweeping triangular sensor; a sticky note doodle of the Beholder, a giant ball with a big eye in the center and additional eye stalks branching off the body. The Beholder has a mustache and a hat; the rulebook showing an elf running down an escalator away from a dragon guard and Beholder; the Beholder mover looks at a wall that's been busted through.

Santorini (and its many expansions) is the Game of the Week! An elegant abstract game is not the immediate candidate I think of for expansions, but that didn't stop Santorini from getting absolutely flooded with them. It gets wild, but are they missing the forest for the trees?
A collage of images of Santorini, designed by Dr. Gordon Hamilton and illustrated by David Forest and Lina Cossette: a mid-game state with towers at different states of completion. A giant boulder is being menaced by a hydra head. Multiple builders scatter the board; an array of God cards with the hellhound Cerberus in the center; a sticky note doodle of a blue-domed building Santorini overlooking the sea; the Sisyphus and Hydra God cards showing their special powers; the box cover showing Poseidon and Aphrodite playing Santorini on a giant scale where the buildings are actually livable.

Hot Lead is the Game of the Week! In college, I had a dream that I had a poster which said, "Polar bears are the police in 1984." My dream came true!
A collage of images of the game Hot Lead, designed by Reiner Knizia with character illustrations by Paul K. Halkyon: an array of anthropomorphic animals in various cop gear; the box which shows an elephant in a tiny hat and trenchcoat, holding a tiny gun; some crime cards like Grand Theft Auto and Cyber Hacking; a blue sticky note doodle with the title and various criminal filigree; the deck of crime cards with a yellow knife on the back.

IOTA is the Game of the Week! It's so so tiny, but does it add up to more than the sum of its tiny tiny parts? I wanna find out!
A collage of images of the game IOTA, designed by Gene Mackles: a black sticky note with a green plus, red circle, yellow circle, and blue square; a game of IOTA in progress, with square cards lined up and branching off each other; the tiny tin box the game comes in; four cards featuring different colored shapes with numbers on them.

I love finding games at thrift stores that I've never heard of. This game is gorgeous, and the storm that sweeps across the board and picks up magnetic boats as it passes over them is very spooky and fun. And look at that illustration on the insert! If it was complete, I would have taken it home.

Love Letter (2019) is the Game of the Week! There are so so so so so many versions of the smash hit that kicked off the micro game wave in the early 2010s, and this is another one! But I do enjoy the new cards and having more info in 2-player games is nice! Wild to see how it changes over the years.
A collage of images of the 2019 edition of Love Letter, designed by Seiji Kanai and illustrated by Andrew Bosley: a paper recreation of a red wax seal on an envelope; three faceup cards and one face down; the princess card surrounded by favor tokens which look like wax seals; a red velvet bag with a seal on it.

Jungo is the Game of the Week! Don't you dare rearrange your hand of cards! Only play cards that match AND are next to each other. Yes, it's like Scout. But it's new to me, so the cards aren't as sticky as my old Scout copy, so that's a plus!
A collage of images of Jungo, designed by Toshiki Arao and illustrated by Laura Michaud: 4 blue 8 cards showing a monkey grabbing a banana with their tail; the box for the game; the deck of cards; a hand of cards with numbers from 1 to 8; a sticky note doodle mimicking the box cover

Small Islands is the Game of the Week! Each island has its own quirks, but you gotta spread out to make the most of them. Make many little islands, or crank one up shine above the others. It looks great, but I need to play it more to get a feel for what it offers.
A collage of images of the game Small Islands, designed by Alexis Allard and illustrated by Aurélie Guarino: a single red home on a peninsula; a purple home on an island; a sticky note doodle of the title "Small Islands" as little islands in the ocean, surrounded by other islands and a flying bird; the box of the game showing a bird flying over a bunch of islands; a single red home on a tiny island

A terrible 4-panel comic I made about a robot powered by a hamster that I used to draw in college:

I once made a comic about a robot.
They were powered by a hamster inside.
And they uh...they...in the comic...it was like...
Ok, fine. I drew these figures because I couldn't focus in college and I wasn't a good student and these were a fixation that got my mind off how little I actually drove the direction of my life. Things are better now!
