Said suspicion wound up being confirmed 0__0 Also I know this sounds like a joke, but it's hard not to come to the conclusion that Uchikoshi wanted to suggest with the shootout scenes in AITSF that a porn addiction can save your life. It certainly keeps working for Kaname Date.

I am so deep into the rabbit hole of AI: The Somnium Files that I'm hoping for a timeline that ends with Kaname Date getting an entire stack of SSR porno mags for going through all this. ...especially if one of my big suspicions winds up getting confirmed.

Reze. Now I wanna draw Asa and Yoru. Maybe next year tho.
Reze piece. Bottom half is torse of Reze holding a flower. Bomb Devil is behind her pulling the pin on her choker causing an explosion to start. Top half has Bomb Devil and Chainsaw Man jumping at each other with smoke and colorful explosions behind them.

Got a much-needed suggestion from my roommate for a Rob-based horror pun, so I'm now set for spooky season!

I'm on ROBservation Duty @robbarracuda.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
My least favorite thing about spooky season (a season which I greatly enjoy otherwise) is it takes me an embarrassingly long amount of time to think of a spooky Halloween screen name that riffs on my actual name. Sadly "Robzilla" and "Robert Zombert" can only go so far.

...admittedly obvious nods to the game dialogue, especially from Police Chief Irons. The casting may be a mixed bag, but Donal Logue was pretty great. That does lead to my two main criticisms: inconsistent acting quality and occasionally shoddy effects work. But honestly, I thought this was decent!

110. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City - not quite a must watch, but I found myself enjoying this way more than Paul Anderson's run of movies, and trying to articulate why is interesting imo. The aspects that make it work better as a film is, funnily enough, the ways it tries to...

The fact that Paul W.S. Anderson is so stubbornly insistent on doing the laser hallway thing like every other movie is like whenever Sheen brings his Ultra Lord figure to class. But yeah, this whole stretch of films was a wash; why did they make so much money?

109. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter - holy shit they really got 6 films out of this one continuity. I'd almost be impressed, if this wasn't a fart of an ending to a subpar action film series, this one plagued with terrible overactive editing and some extremely nonsensical plot turns.

Nicest thing I can say is that I appreciated Barry Burton being included, probably the most direct translation of anything from the games. He shows up, shoots guns, says funny weird lines, mission accomplished!

108. Resident Evil: Retribution - aka "hey guys, remember RE4?" I'm struggling to think of anything to say, good or bad, that isn't just retreading stuff from the other movies 'cause they're all kinda bleeding together in terms of action setpieces and nonsensical plotting.

September 30th. #albumaday2026. Earth Wind & Fire - Millennium // Kind of a mix of the soft easy listening material and aspects of the Minneapolis sound (not surprising since Prince did do some work on this record).

September 29th. #albumaday2026. Earth Wind & Fire - Heritage // This album features two MC Hammer appearances as well as a song with vocals from an adolescent-aged new jack swing group (not ABC, there was another one apparently). Can ya tell this album was made in 1990?

107. Resident Evil: Afterlife - this is definitely the worst-looking of Anderson's RE films, due to being the first to come out in the post-Avatar 3D years, meaning incredibly shoddy effects work and dated "stuff flying at the screen" shots. Doesn't help that this is heavily adapting stuff from RE5.

Definitely helps that it has some tighter comedic chemistry than the mainline show it's attached to, with the characters of Banks and O'Doyle being really funny welcome additions to this universe. I'd be down for a season 2!

106. President Curtis (season 1) - not sure of the temperature of take here, but I wound up enjoying this a lot more than the last few Rick & Morty seasons. It's an entire season of Keith David doing cartoon X-Files stuff, what's not to like?

While I don't think it's up there with the peak 2000s run necessarily, I liked it more than Hushed & Grim, and the lyrics definitely make it a melancholic listen. Stylistically, it definitely feels like there's a lot of spacey keyboard stuff being taken from Dailor's side project Arcadea.

A compelling tale of a stranded space crew surviving an alien planet hinging on the theme of mankind's relationship with the natural world; loved the designs of the flora/fauna and how the writing/direction paints a very detailed picture of this fictional ecosystem.

Everything else about Extinction is just bland zombie fodder that really makes me wonder why they even bothered with the Resident Evil branding aside from marketability.

104. Resident Evil: Extinction - there's two scenes in this movie that I thought were cool -the crow ambush when they all get set ablaze and the whole sky is on fire (unironically cool imagery) -Alice getting psychic powers for a tyrant fight that's stupidly funny in a video-game sorta way

September 27th. #albumaday2026. Wendy's - Songs to Listen to In A Wendy's Parking Lot // It's a corporate release cashing in on millennial nostalgia, so unsurprisingly it sounds like a bad Jarrod Alonge-style EP without the presence of any real punchlines.

I think this is why so many folks are comfortable saying 'well, I never heard of this song' - because if Nashville had bothered to send 'Be Her' or 'I Can't Love You Anymore' to pop radio - you know, TOP TEN HITS, popular culture would have no choice but to acknowledge she's THE hitmaker in 2026.

Which is the same thing they've done with Ella Langley's other songs - Music Row runs on a formula with radio promotion that's pretty rigid when you look at the timelines. And here's the kicker: they didn't send ANY other Ella Langley songs to pop radio - ironic because 'Be Her' is a pop song!

And that's not where the story ends, because after Nashville gave it a proper run, they then dropped the song from country radio airplay, and it's only lasted this long because of the exceedingly rare shipment of the song to pop. Because country radio gives folks their season, and MOVES ON.
