Oh hey, I have now finished every mainline Metal Gear game (Except I guess Portable Ops) ✌️🎉 MGS4 is fantastic but it's a real shame a lot of phenomenal gameplay elements are used sparsely and aren't reintroduced in The Phantom Pain.

MGSV overextending and crumbling under its own weight makes sense now. MGS4 overextends massively as well but (so far) pulls it off, so of course Kojima was going to push it further. The mission briefing cutscenes really didn't NEED to be multi-cam, interactive, and EXPLORABLE, but there it is.

Wait instead of sneaking through the battlefield, you can also just befriend the Militia and help them win the territory to your next objective? That's actually really cool. Subtracts from the war-is-horrific brutality you're otherwise having to crawl through though.

Oh, I like the OctoCamo. Very big reason why I'm not as high on MGS3 as most is because the camo switching makes the entire game feel like a Water Temple (yes you heard me), so having the basic camouflage be automatic is a huge improvement.

It's so funny how Chris is "hard mode" because his entire scenario is about how much he sucks and he needs Rebecca to bail him out. Lost his gun. Can't lockpick. Can't read music. Can't mix chemicals. Not enough pockets. Doesn't know what Umbrella is. Gets incapacitated by two bosses.
