We do an awful lot of looooong video recordings in our lab and have long wanted an easy way to clip, compress and combine videos for our workflows. So here's #croppy! 🦀 I hope others will find it useful too - I'd love to hear if you do! And would appreciate if you give it a star on Github! 🌟

You can find it from Launchpad I believe (Apps on Tahoe). An issue to clarify in the docs would be useful!☺️

@dinrao.bsky.social Ah! It's just because the docs hadn't updated the preferred installation method - run `pixi global uninstall croppy` and `pixi global install croppy` and you should get the latest version. 😊

That looks like an earlier version for sure - can you try running `croppy --version` to check? Optimally it should be 0.6.0 (later today 0.6.1). But it may be that the OS is too old to support it. If you could open an issue on github.com/roaldarbol/c..., that would be amazing, then I'll investigate!

This looks awesome! I saw the other video elsewhere on Bluesky (mu.social/profile/wsde...) - what tool/software did you use to track the cells, and is the data available? 😃 I'm building R packages for tracking data (animovement.dev), and would love to use this for an example!

boris-clip allows you to extract video clips at scale. It also provides some handy features: → one clip per bout, named by behaviour + subject → filter to just the behaviours you need → cap duration + clip count → add padding (time) around each behaviour
