Before we were Federally Married, even though we were married in MA (a Stare we didn't live in), we had to pay 4 TIMES the tax of federally married couples.. We also had to hire an accountant bc NO ONE could figure it out.
So unless your Religious Liberties extend to tax rules, you can get fucked.
