Blender, substance painter or a free alternative, and clip studio paint are what I use personally, but I may have other recommendations depending on the kind of modding you're looking at doing

I feel this so hard I had to change my way of shading browns from using overlay to soft light, seems to have helped a bit but it still requires a lot of fiddling

I have added context to my repost if you are curious. Krys did such an amazing job on this for us and I cannot sing her praises enough 💙

I had been thinking about commissioning a piece of art of my fursona holding her, as a sort of memorial. My amazing wife, before I had even mentioned the thought to her, had already reached out to Krys and commissioned this piece. Needless to say I adore it and the gesture of love fills my heart 💙

I saw someone in the comments on this mention they loved it despite not having any context, so I thought I would give some in case anyone wanted to know. Last month we suddenly lost my 11 year old Netherlands Dwarf, Bebe. Continued below.

I also burned myself out a smidge on creating, so I've been letting myself take a break and take things at my own pace, which has greatly reduced my stress. I will get these dragons out eventually, but I need to do so on my own terms.

Unfortunately my production was interrupted by life. One of our bunnies got very sick, and all my attention went to her for a while. She is doing much better, thankfully. Koro and I are incredibly relieved.

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. I know a lot of people were expecting me to have the dragons done for mystical market. They still aren't done, but I'm plugging away at them when I can. I want to put out the best product I can.

Two wonderful illustrations by the inimitable @nargil.bsky.social, featured in her "Age of the Wolf" art book! Keshral spent his childhood in mining tunnels deep underground; his adult life voyaging between the stars. Yet he always felt a yearning for the forests of Rushédak. #art #oc #werewolf

A color illustration of a werewolf-like creature, Keshral, standing in a verdant forest. The scene is suffused with the glow of morning light. Keshral is covered in bushy white fur that turns black near his feet, the tip of his tail, and his shoulders and head. His eyes are yellow. His arms are outstretched and he is snarling. He stands with one foot on a mossy embankment and one foot in a shallow pool of water.

A mostly-grayscale composite illustration of the same character, Keshral. The upper half depicts him in humanoid form, his hair long and bushy, his face lined with age, staring pensively forward. He sits in a starship next to a window, out of which a planet and its moons are visible. The lower half depicts him as a werewolf; he glares toward the right and his left hand rests on a tree trunk with several gouged-out claw marks defacing its bark.
