"It's just a headache." Migraines are far worse than headaches. They impact vision, feel skull-splittingly painful and make it impossible to function properly. They are debilitating, chronic and can last an awfully long time, even days.

The image is a flat-coloured painting featuring a dark skull. The skull is cracked and splitting, and a gilded sword stabs through the skull from head to jaw. Golden thorns pierce through the socket of the eye and the mouth to symbolize the pain being too intense to speak or see. The lines are intricate and gold, and the colours are dark with floral arrangements pushing out of a border.

I've really missed doodling for myself. It doesn't have meaning or isn't based on something, it isn't perfect, but it's allowing my brain and hand to do whatever it wants in the moment with no pressure. I would like to do more of that this year.
