Drawing in the dark with crayons is such a mood

I had to stop oil painting because I couldn't adequately ventilate my space. Even in college opening the windows in the studio didn't stop the fumes from making me woozy. ("Odorless" mineral spirits absolutely stinks.)

Thought I might have fun with my acrylic markers. The black however is from a tube and not a marker

The bride wanted me to paint portraits of her, her mother, and her grandmother as a gift for her mother. I’m about halfway through but so far I’m happy how it’s going! #art #watercolor #weddinggift

If you are an artist struggling with a nagging discomfort or pain when you work. Stop. Go and get that shit checked out and start doing recommended, corrective exercises. It will not get better if you just push through. It will get worse and harder to correct. Please take care of yourself.

telling creators you like their work is less 'if you don't praise they'll stop' and more 'if you encourage they'll do the thing you like' I don't make art for others, I make what I make regardless, but if someone else is into it I !!!! and vroommmm it's thrilling to share what makes me happy

Ohayou Bluesky. Proko told me about Eyes Training, a website where you can see the intersection refs of simple objects. Super handy for art exercises and understanding figures, huh? eyes.training/intersections/

I am not going to bore you with the historical context and theory around the term “male gaze” in the art world. I am not going to scream about the significance of understanding the objectification and dehumanization of half of the world’s population.

So funny to me how trans people are only supposed to make up .1 to .5% of the population but then you're online for 5 minutes and you ask like "oh I wonder who made this art/discord emoji/award winning soundtrack/dragon age game" and it's always a trans woman asking for help with her GFM on Tumblr

ang bawat piyesa na bumubuo sa'yo bawat piyesang nawa'y mapasaakin habang-buhay

A drawing of a woman wearing a golden baro’t saya laying in the dirt, clutching another woman’s severed head to her chest.
Around her are stylized dismembered body parts, either as bones or stripped of skin – her lover’s arms curved around her, legs, heart, lungs, eyes, teeth, and so on. Between these are several scattered items, such as a necklace, a bolo knife, a lamp, a comb. Tufts of grass weave their way in between the body parts and objects. The drawing has a border of white anthuriums, a flower often used in funeral bouquets. /end ID

batstarion embroidery anyone? :3 #bg3 #astarion #embroidery #art

an embroidery of astarion from baldur's gate 3, in his bat form. it is stylized. The background is red velvet fabric. His face is fully embroidered, wings are sewn on white fabric, he is seemingly smiling mischievously. He is kind of hanging off of a golden goblet. Goblet is embroidered in golden thread with red beads representing wine.

For some reason I forget that I can make art for arts sake and not worry about selling it. I find it lately that I’ve been just doing either commissions or art that I think will (hopefully) sell. Not doing work that’s stress free is now strange to do.

Been picking up new hobbies left and right this year. My gran does cross stitching and I asked her to teach me. Ended up super enjoying it! It's a nice low-brain activity while watching something in the background. Perfect for unwinding. Here's my first finished cross stitch! Isn't he fashionable?
