Today I learned that one of the ways to identify Tree-of-Heaven is that if you break a twig off, it smells like burnt peanut butter. This is a dead accurate description. Also, it's a really weird smell to encounter in a plant.

Things My Recent Knitting Project Taught Me: while I definitely prefer the look of knit fabrics, the amount of aggravation and extra fiddliness involved vastly outweighs the aesthetic preference, and thus I think I'm officially switching to crochet for anything larger or more complex than a cat toy.
