Flame Shield - Pluteus aurantiorugosus New to me There have been so many rare to uncommon fungi popping up this year that I feel like a broken record pointing out how excited I am to find them all.

A cluster of orange mushrooms which really fit the name of aurantiorugosus as they are quite wrinkly and quite orange.

Underside of the caps. The gills are quite white and do not touch the stem

The view as I found them inside of a rotten maple log. They're surrounded by many rotten wood splinters. The are slime molds of various states of maturity ranging from white to beige to brown

First hole mended. Haven’t gotten replacement fabric for the collar or additional buttons yet. Tacked the neck of the collar back down also. Darning skills improving. The fabric is a really tight weave so im trying to repair it with a tight weave. Had my eyes doin zigzags at 1am
