A Taiwanese-made Fotek SSR-50DD solid-state relay found in debris from a Russian drone shot down in Kyiv. It's possible this is a "pirated" unit, but Ukraine has repeatedly complained that Russian drones and missiles contain genuine Western-made electronic components.

This sort of attack by fascist Russia is hardly likely to cause major damage to a large bridge. The drone is aimed at the roadway. The intention is to hit cars and kill civilians. It's a terror bombing.

Ukraine unveils new Nika missile to counter jet-powered drones
Ukraine has developed a new missile designed to shoot down jet-powered Shahed drones, President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a meeting with journalists. According to Zelensky, the new small missile, named Nika, is intended to destroy high-speed unmanned aerial vehicles. He said the missile is expected to undergo testing soon. “We now have a new small missile, Nika, to counter jet-powered …

The rumours and official statements about Russian (hybrid) attacks on NATO countries are not very plausible, but they are not meaningless either: it means Putin knows the USA under Trump will not fulfill its obligations (when article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty is invoked).

Key point: The news is not Putin trying to subvert “the West”: Brexit, AfD, Le Pen, Orban, everything remotely right wing he supported. The news is that the U.S. have turned. There is no “West” anymore. There is a fragile island of liberal democracies in Europe encircled by autocracies.
While I saw some real weaknesses in Biden's policy towards Ukraine (and still do), he remained absolutely committed to the Atlantic alliance.

1742 drones in a day is the number that should worry Moscow most. Their whole war depends on cheap flying munitions, and Ukraine is now destroying that supply chain faster than factories can rebuild it.

Sanctions squeeze the war budget. Ukrainian drones squeeze the war machine itself. Refineries, depots, ports, airfields, command posts. One is paperwork that bites monthly. The other bites nightly. More of both.

The MoD needs a story to sell blackouts as strategy, not sadism. Same script since 2022: winter as a weapon, civilians as pawns. Call it honestly: they are telegraphing a terror campaign and dressing it as military logic.

Russians have seen from earlier US and European response that they can commit extreme war crimes and nothing will change. From a strategic point of view not only do war crimes make sense the Russians are practically being encouraged to commit them. This is the war we have created in the modern world
