This needs quite a bit of signatures and you can just be a comic reader to sign it. You ever read Hellboy and want to help the next generation of creators make their Hellboy, this is the kinda stuff we got to do to ensure that. Sick of seeing corp mindsets destroy creative life’s into nothingness

Ignore the poor video quality and enjoy a live performance overflowing with pure joy. The dance at the end is bittersweet today. RIP Glen Hansard.

She was Hayao Miyazaki's "right-hand" collaborator from the '70s onward. Her name was Michiyo Yasuda -- the best color designer in animation. Yasuda's eye for color gave Ghibli's work a totally different look. We explore her methods: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/the-artist...

allow me to surf on odyssey hype to repost an old piece from 2013 Penelope, Queen of Ithaca - 30x40cm ink on claybord
a black and white scratchboard illustration depicting Penelope, queen of Ithaca waiting for Odysseus. She is standing at the edge of a small stone platform, the sea right underneath, like by a ray of light, wrapped in black robes. Behind her, stairs climb back up the hill behind tall pine trees. In the distance, a square palace sits on the top of the hill, with light coming from the windows.

EM DASHES returns with a question. What happens when the world's most rational-minded filmmaker decides to adapt a work of fantastical mythology? What is gained, and what is lost? buttondown.com/riqkquinn/ar...

Howdy I'm the sheriff of #makeaterriblecomicday
comic of a rascal picking a book out of the library and wanting to make one of their own. The other books yell to also be read, and the rascal is panicked by this mass of unread stories, saying "this library is a graveyard! How will my comic avoid this fate!" The sheriff of makeaterriblecomicday enters and points his gun at the rascal, saying "An unread book is no tragedy! An unwritten book is! create for your own soul, or don't create at all!" the rascal, is still worried about their place in infinity, but the sheriff assures them that inifinity is a scam, the only truth is in the moment, and being forgotten is a blessing. waves saying "read me!" crash on a beach, apreciated for a moment, and forgotten. These comic panels create a sheriff body.

Much like the lady raptors at a certain theme park, I enjoy being described as "clever." Here's me exploring why—and whether that impulse is a good thing?—along with thoughts on Okkervil River's "Lost Coastlines," a pop sea shanty that will excite your body and your mind in equal measure.

It's always easier not to think for oneself. Find a nice safe hierarchy and settle in. Don't make changes, don't risk disapproval, don't upset your syndics. It's always easiest to let yourself be governed.

I could name a dozen Oasis songs I know by heart. Blur? Not so much. This is the first in a series I'm calling THE OUTLIERS. What's the hook? Other than this one song I love I’m either: oblivious to the respective artist’s discography, or I've heard the rest and I'm not a fan. This one's the latter.

You will die. You will not live forever. Nor will any man nor any thing. Nothing is immortal. But only to us is it given to know that we must die. And that is a great gift: the gift of selfhood. For we have only what we know we must lose, what we are willing to lose.
