Last year the Japanese variety show Gaki no Tsukai had the famous singer Yoko Takahashi go undercover at a restaurant where she fooled everyone right up until she took the stage and belted out A Cruel Angel's Thesis, the intro song to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Just stunning.

Yes, people who tell you to switch to Linux with every minor problem you have with windows/macos are annoying but i have to be honest here i can not remember the last time i actually had to put any effort into using Linux, it's really not as bad as this comment makes it seem

I don't think anyone is arguing that gta 6 won't be worth $100, but that slop companies wanna use this to price their yearly shit games at $100, which are absolutely not worth it

SaaS should not be taken seriously, not because of the business model or anything but because that's the sound tf2 characters make in gmod animations

Why do i have to give marvel rivals an environment variable so it thinks I'm a steam deck? Surely you can just check if you're under wine

Lol, vr is a separate platform even though, y'know, it's also running on Linux

Screenshot of a circle chart depicting the platforms I've played steam games on this year. Most of the circle is taken up by Linux, with the remainder being "virtual reality"

What do you even do on windows if a program breaks and you have to downgrade it? Do you cross your fingers and hope there is a history of builds on their website? Brb `sudo downgrade`ing the Nvidia driver and soundux at the same time

Working with audio is so awesome because I'll be refactoring the audio decoder, get some corrupted bits (but not all of it!!) and then realize one of the types was a u32 instead of an i32 and that was why

first #flipnote decoded with #rustlang sample flipnote from flipnote.rakujira.jp really enjoying the experience with rust. file parsing and writing automated just via a struct definition. Only custom parsing currently done on sound and frames. Hoping to ditch ffmpeg and teach myself some vulkan

Sarah "dinner's ready" Rin @rinlovesyou.bsky.social · 09/11/2024

The fun part about revisiting years old projects is finding out how much you remember. Unrelated: did you know that the framerate of a flipnote animation is not stored in the metadata at the start, but in the header of the sound data after you've parsed every frame
