I think ai reasoning would make a jump if the model was allowed to turn simple questions like this into code and run it. I think with the current architecture aside from reinforcing specific questions like the strawberry one in training data it'll never be fully accurate with this stuff

On x11 i had to use a hacked together version of vesktop which allowed me to use cameras as stream sources so i could use obs virtual cam for hardware accelerated streaming on discord 💀

I swapped to Wayland as soon as nvidia got things in a decent place for it. It solves the problem of discord streaming lagging your games due to a lack of hardware acceleration, since on Wayland that's handled by pipewire capture which i believe uses gpu

I see, on arch it's working fine for me on kde. I do know there are issues when VRR is on (typical nvidia) but with it off it's a pretty good experience for me here

Yep, i use that too with my quest :) you can even use the lighthouse driver with it and a tool called motoc to calibrate them together to have full body tracking

It probably does on windows lol, on Linux we're using opencomposite (and soon xrizer) to play vrchat without steamvr using an open source openxr runtime (monado)

Fl studio seems to be a mixed bag, under stock wine a good amount of vsts weren't working all that well, but i did get some working :') people have also been saying that affinity's products work well but the setup i looked into was horrid. So you're not entirely out of luck but bleh

I think as long as your software is supported and you get settled in, it really does not get in your way at all, at least that's how it's been for me daily driving it for the past 5 or so years. i think desktop environment choice matters as well for this point and kde has been a very easy experience

Yeah you can absolutely disregard what i said when software you need for work just doesn't work, but that's not something I'm going to blame Linux for, that's on the developers of the software.

Sure, in the beginning you might run into some things, but like, i think switching between any os will have that period of pain. Once you are set up it is hard for me to imagine what could go so wrong that you are "working for your computer" when daily driving

Yes, people who tell you to switch to Linux with every minor problem you have with windows/macos are annoying but i have to be honest here i can not remember the last time i actually had to put any effort into using Linux, it's really not as bad as this comment makes it seem
