I have been teaching on a 3-year short-term CS endorsement. I missed the first two test attempts by 2 points. After my 3rd attempt at ISBE's CS test, I passed it and am completely certified to teach CS in IL. It has been extremely frustrating and stressful, but is is done!

Gave my Computer Programming students a real-world challenge this week: build an AI chatbot for our Unit 40 website. Same goal, totally different solutions. A good reminder that creativity thrives when students get structure and the freedom to explore. Proud of their work.

Coming from a bad test taker— I’m sure ISBE’s $48 million 6 year contract with ACT will benefit the majority of IL students. 🙄 I’ve been in Ed for nearly 20 years and most Ss (unless in the top 10%) don’t care and find these tests a waste of time…and I know many Ts that feel the same way. #edusky
