And this is the one for switching between the calendar and contacts. I think it's fantastic, too! #playdate #caldav

An address book on the #Playdate is fun, but what if… we could also have a calendar? All the ideas just fell into place like puzzle pieces in this spiral-bound notebook with a tear-off calendar and flip-card navigation. Sounds crazy, but it’s real. :D #caldav #carddav #BuildInPublic #indydev

Sunday was a fun day! Contacts on #playdate. It has #caldav sync, and it creates a QR code for each field in the card that you can scan to perform an action, such as calling a phone number. I really like flipping through the cards! :) #indydev #BuildInPublic

Even if the plan worked and there was one silo again, what would stop the same thing happening again? Another fact that this ignores is that we already have three large networks with X, Bluesky and Mastodon. Do they really think they can convince everyone to join their paid solution?

We can visualize data in our iOS apps in so many ways with Swift Charts. But it's important to understand the framework well to build beautiful and interactive charts that stay accessible and performant. Our new book can help you make the most of it: books.nilcoalescing.com/swift-charts... #iOSDev

I have a preview feature for links that looks like a reader. GitHub repos didn't render very well in it. It took a while, but I've got it working now. I can just show the README. :) #macdev #indydev #buildinpublic

Would love to relay them, but I think that’s regulated in the t&c’s. 😅 I think they called them chats because it’s a bit more than just private messages. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s something I expect from a social media platform: private channel without revealing more information.

Fantastisches Interview mit einer Schwimmerin, die in unter neun Stunden eine Strecke von 29 km (Strait of Georgia) geschwommen ist, den Männer-Rekord gebrochen hat und im Interview einfach super unterhaltsam ist. Lese-Empfehlung. www.cbc.ca/radio/asitha...

"Take me to the moment where you finally arrived on the beach after swimming so far. What did that feel like?

A little uncomfortable because my legs gave out and I fell onto some barnacles, so that was fun. And then there was a bunch of people, so that was wonderfully overstimulating, so I had to put on a smile — "Yay, I'm suffering on the inside! Too many people!" Had to pretend I was an extrovert."

I’ve been experimenting with the idea of using the Playdate’s crank to increase or decrease the depth of fractals for a while. Last week, I finally had the idea of making a description and all the formulas scroll through. I’m happy with how it turned out! :) #playdate #EmbeddedSwift #fractals

Sunday is fun day! While reading chrisburnell.com/html-can-do-... I learned that I can have a photo gallery and a lightbox without JavaScript. It has nice deep linking and shows extracted EXIF data. ricobeck.de/photostream....

Oh nice, sleep data is available. Exporting it to #Apple #Health as good as possible. (#pebble has no REM phase detection)

Rico Becker @ricobeck.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

It works! You can record heart rate samples from the #Pebble and stream them to #Apple Health.

Ha! Seems like the 10 years old #pebble #ios SDK is still working. Getting heart rate measurements from the watch works. Sending live data as well. One step closer replacing the apple watch as heart rate sensor and remote display for workout metrics. :)
