I'm like a year late on this, but I just turned the TV on and saw Barry Hinson doing a Consumer Cellular commercial and it was an absolute delight. I hope HIS WIFE! appreciated the extra income!

Re: Game 5. I hope the Sox do the thing for all of the Rate Field concession workers, vendors, Split-The-Pot sellers, and the like. So many of those people have been there for years, decades even. And it's not like they were getting tips from sell-out crowds. They deserve a W. And 2 more at home.

I don't get this post but one of the few ways AI genuinely helps me is running long interviews through a transcriber. I don't need exact quotes, just approximate, but if I can scan the interview for what I'm searching for and jump right to that point, it's a win.

What I'm saying is, Sox fans aren't transplants *HERE*, but the bandwagon effect is strong.

In '05 I was working in Southern Illinois, having moved there as a student in the fall of '99. I remember being absolutely stunned when after the World Series win the idiots on campus tried to take down the football stadium's goalposts. Like...where were you the last five years?

Jayson, I have loved your work for about a quarter-century now, but... ...I don't think Sister Jean was a Sox fan. My memory isn't what it was and my one convo with her focused on basketball, but the only reference I can find connecting her and the Sox is this column. I think she was a Cub fan.
