The window became a prominent symbol in 19thC art, representing a threshold between the interior and exterior, and a space for contemplation and longing. 'View of Rome from the Artist’s Room at the Villa Medici,' by Constant Moyaux was painted in 1863.

🚨BREAKING: The government's own statistics show there was a *record level of terrorism arrests* in the year leading up to June this year. The vast majority of the enormous increase in terrorism arrests are of grandparents, teenagers and everyone in between for peacefully holding placards.
NEW: Home Office stats released today reveal that arrests for “terrorist-related activity” in the year ending June 2026 were up 1,553% on last year and 94% of the arrests (3,630 of 3,867) were linked to showing support for Palestine Action.

A sure sign of autumn are all the fungi around just now. Here are some fine turkey tail fungi on a mossy log, near our front door. But what did we call them before the discovery of the turkey? And why are turkeys so called anyway, when it's not where they came from? #Photography #Fungi #Autumn

Wall-to-wall praise for the policy in today’s papers but they either don’t understand it or don’t care. We’ve been here before, of course. Bexit, Boris Johnson, Truss… all bigged up by the media despite, all obviously awful.

In the first round of overseas Brazilian votes, Lula has won 1078 votes in Palestine, Bolsonaro got just 46. In Israel, Bolsonaro got 523 votes, and Lula 92. That tells you who the right candidate is.

New Environment Secretary @angelaeagle1.bsky.social has an opportunity to radically rethink how we prepare for climate impacts, by restoring nature. Her recent Guardian article praising rewilding & pushing back on moorland burning lobbyists was a great start: www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

This C15th town house was once an apothecary, then it was a pharmacy. Now it seems to be an occasional art gallery and holiday let. We don't have drugstores in the UK, and I've no idea why they didn't call it the 'Axbridge Apothecary'. 😊 #Photography #FensterFreitag #Shop #History
