on October 1st of both 2024 and 2025, I posted (almost verbatim) "oh shit, I need to start thinking about Meta & Nilla's Halloween costumes" I'm pleased to announce that this year I have already decided on their costumes

my first reaction to some internet loser saying "peasants must not bring beverages to job interviews" was, like most, "man, get bent, what are you, immortan joe?" my second reaction- and I'm not saying I'm proud of this- was "heh. heh heh. you shouldn't bring a bagel either. heh heh heh"

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door inadvertently depicts Peach as the quickest typist in the world. She is able to type up a 126-word email in exactly 3 seconds, making her 8 times faster than the current typing speed world record.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Peach sends multiple emails to Mario during the plot. Almost all of them take her exactly 3 seconds to type.
The length of the emails she types in 3 seconds varies from 54 words to the longest one seen below, at 126 words.
Peach: I'm OK
My Dearest Mario, I send this letter in the hope that it reaches you safely. I am being held against my will in some strange place. Though I do not know where I am, I remain unharmed and in relative comfort.
Those who have captured me seem to be after the map I sent to you earlier. They may be hoping to use it to find objects they call the "Crystal Stars." I do not know what they are planning, but I have a feeling it is not anything positive.
Mario, please collect these Crystal Stars before they do. You must! They are already aware that you have the map, so please be very careful.
And please... Don't worry about me.
-Princess Peach-
At the current world record typing speed of 319 words per minute, Peach should have been able to get about this far into the email.
In order to finish the email in three seconds, she needed to type with an a speed of 2520 words per minute, 7.9 times the world record.
While the quick typing is clearly merely a way to make the scene move along more quickly and should not be taken as accurate depiction of Peach's typing skills, it is still humorous to imagine the implications arising from it if taken at face value.

Coyote vs Acme was a lot of fun! As Wile E. was struggling to put the pin back in the grenade, some guy in my audience said out loud "That's not how that works." Which just made me bust up laughing even harder when he finally got the pin back in and it exploded anyway

not necessarily my 9 favorite games (although it's pretty close) but moreso the 9 games that most changed my life Undertale should really be on here but there wasn't anything I was willing to cut

"My 9 Games: The 9 Games That Shaped Who I Am." The games are Final Fantasy VII, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Dragon Quest Builders 2, Mega Man X, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Fire Emblem Awakening, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, and Kirby Super Star.

I am a Dual Destinies defender but rereleasing it in VR while Ace Attorney fans are eating themselves waiting for a new game is definitely the “Metroid Federation Force” or “MegaMan in Street Fighter X Tekken” of the franchise. Just the worst move they could have made, worse than nothing, somehow

I don't know quite what, and I definitely don't know how to elaborate on it without sounding like an insane person, but I think there's some kind of thematic importance to Zack's big forelock splitting off into more and more thinner strands with each redesign

Zack Fair's character select artwork from Ehrgeiz. Like his original model and concept art from Final Fantasy VII, he only has one long, thick strand of hair hanging in front of his face.

Screenshot from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PSP. Zack's in-game model has two long strands of hair in front of his face, one of them thicker than the other.

Screenshot from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Zack has three long, thin strands of hair hanging in front of his face.

please look at this very good Miriel I drew on a post-it

Pen drawing of Miriel from Fire Emblem Awakening on a yellow post-it note. She’s smiling very wide with her eyes closed. Cartoony “happiness” effects like music notes, a flower and a rainbow are floating near her head.

Pokopia desperately needs items to stack to 999. That's the biggest thing keeping it in the shadow of Dragon Quest Builders 2 for me. I don't know if I see myself building at scale and in the long-term without it. Even the PC version of Builders 1 realized it needed that. No idea why they went back

Pokopia's DLC trailer only showed a few of the accessories, none of the new furniture and only 3 new Pokémon (although they've never not completed an evolutionary line so we can infer Dodrio, Delcatty, Fennekin and Delphox) and even STILL looked like a blowout compared to Mario Kart World's trailer

right as I’m starting to brainstorm Halloween costumes for Meta & Nilla, a new indie game comes out with a chesty redhead with a cute expressive face, a light blue top that exposes her navel, green bottoms, a choker necklace and white-toed sneakers

I actually really like how Ocarina looks. Everyone was wrong about StarFox and everyone is wrong again. I definitely do hate how much they MCU'd Link's tunic with pointless details, though. It's not even so much that I think it looks bad, I just hate that impulse that "harder to draw=better design"

So, I guess according to Sony, you don't own that 2024 Honda Accord or that iPhone 17 or that box of Cheez-Its you bought, either, because those companies then went on to sell them to other people after you bought yours
