FREE SPEECH: We were just in the federal appeals court in Boston to again defend artists’ free speech. In Sept. 2025, a RI judge ruled that the Nat'l Endowment for the Arts had to remove a requirement that grant applicants wouldn't "promote gender ideology.” The NEA appealed the decision.

This letter was sent to the Cumberland Town C0ucnil regarding a false arrest made in 2025 after a Flock Safety automated license plate reader (ALPR) photo was used to incorrectly identify a woman.

She’s now suing the Town with private counsel (not an ACLU lawsuit.) Our letter highlights how this use of Flock technology to identify drivers is well outside the scope of the police and Flock Safety’s mantra that “they just read license plates."

We sent a letter to the Cumberland Town Council today, calling on them to cancel their contract with Flock Safety. We recently learned that, in April 2025, a woman was falsely arrested after Cumberland Police wrongly identified her in a photo taken by Flock Safety cameras.
