It's Banned Books Week. My fellow librarians, listen carefully: your book displays should be almost exclusively writers who are alive. Yes, I know classic literature is also being banned, but most of those authors are dead. They aren't suffering financially from bans and challenges.

A silly Halloween comic I made in like 2019 for my old story, In the Cauldron, that I ended up dropping. 😭It's a little dated, but I still try and post it somewhere every Halloween time.

Three Panels of a short comic from a story called In the Cauldron - Panel One: Two people sit on a gross yellow couch, Eric and Lex, seeming to answer interview questions. Lex - "So every October, Jess makes us do a verions of the Monster Mash. I mean every October." Panel Two: Cuts to Jess sitting in a chair, looking smug. She appears to be interviewing separately. Jess - "I really like to keep things fun, ya know?" Panel Three: Returns to Eric and Lex. Eric - "Its just nice to see her excited."

Panel One: Eric - "Even if its a little embarrassing." Shows the three band members playing their instruments in costumes. Eric is playing bass in a skeleton outfit, Jess is sloppily covered in wrappings like a mummy, on the mic, and Lex is dressed like a devil, on the drums. Eric - "But the Costumes?" Panel Two: Returns to Jess's interview. Jess - "October! Costumes set the mood! The spooky spirit!" Panel Three: Just a shot of Eric on the couch. Eric - "It could be worse."

Panel One: Pans out to both Eric and Lex. Lex - "Ok. But the faces." Eric - "Oh yeah..." Panel Two and Three: Jess making ridiculous faces to match her costumes. Eric - "She started making them in recent years. To what? Capture the essence of the song?" Panel Four: Back to Jess's interview. Jess - "So what? The crowd loves it."

I think about how being painfully shy has lost me so many chances at opportunities or friendships or anything of the like. Dating an extrovert has helped more than I anticipated, but I think about the times I didn't want to inconvenience someone with my attention or presence. I hope I get better 😭
