#frightfall2026 day 10: Ritual. @retrosupply.bsky.social Inspired by my first ritual altar. I miss those dragon statues. #art #drawingchallenge #retrosupply

Yep…I drew Dolly and Tim as cats. 😸 All credit for the idea goes to @swheeties on threads. I couldn’t not draw it!! #art #dollyparton #timcurry #catdrawings #imissthem

A digital sketch of two cats representing Dolly Parton and Tim Curry. The left is fluffy and white with a fancy rhinestone collar (Dolly). The right is tall, thin and black with a pearl collar (Tim).

Screenshot of a post on Threads by user @swheeties that inspired the drawing:
“Dolly Parton was a fluffy white cat and Tim Curry was a slinky black cat”

The older I get, the more obvious my nonverbal-leaning autism becomes. Talking (verbally, but sometimes texting too) is draining at best, and *physically painful* at worst. I thought being an artist meant having a relatively quiet job. I was wrong 🙃

I can't stress enough the importance of making shitty things. Shitty writing. Shitty art. Shitty paintings. Shitty films. Shitty songs. Shitty sculptures. Shitty is beautiful, because it's human. There's no glory without shitty. Get out there and shit things up.

Which version ya like better? First was a test print of yesterday’s stamps. Didn’t like it at the time, so I carved out the background to make the second…now I think it looked way cooler before. (why am i like this) (so much for not being a perfectionist) (hahahaha) #art #blockprint

First draft: white outlined lettering contained in black rectangles on white background. A series of messy stamps spell out “perfection is oppression”, zine-style. Letters are unaligned. Carved out of pink pearl erasers.

Final version: simpler black lettering on white background. A series of messy stamps spell out “perfection is oppression”, zine-style. Ink is intentionally smeared and letters are unaligned. Carved out of pink pearl erasers.

My perfectionist voice is VERY loud these days and I’m sick of it. Everything I make is ugly to me anyways…why not make it ugly on purpose? I’m gonna be out here creating, and nothing short of death will stop me. Not perfectionism, not capitalism, and especially not fucking AI. #art #stamps

Very messy lettering stamps that say “perfection is oppression”. The ink is smeared in a few places and the letters aren’t aligned (I’m taking a lot of inspo from zines these days). Made using a Pfeil linocutter, pink pearl erasers, and Ranger Archival Ink.

Every time this tech comes around, we make it so no one wants to wear them outside, and that is good and correct and we must keep it up until it fades away yet again. And then th enext time? We do it all over again.

The cartoon versions of Beetlejuice and (adult) Lydia are sitting side by side in formal attire. BJ is leaning over and whispering something to Lydia, presumably an inappropriate joke. Lydia is covering her mouth and giggling.

Love this from Guillermo del Toro

“Be kind, be involved, believe in your art,” he said. “At a time when people tell you art is not important, that is always the prelude to fascism. When they tell you it doesn’t matter, when they tell you a fucking app can do art you say, if it’s that important, why the fuck do they want it so bad? The answer is because they think they can debase everything that makes us a little better, a little more human. And that, in my book, and in my life, includes monsters.”

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them.

Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!”

Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.”

Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face.

Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.

This sparked an “argument” (heavy quotes) with @jonnynero.bsky.social about moths vs butterflies. Look I dunno why, all I know is that moths and butterflies are equally terrifying to me! I blame that one episode of SpongeBob.

Fun fact: if you're buying from a creator on etsy, you can reduce their etsy selling fees from 6.5% to 2.5% by ordering via 'shopname.etsy.com' instead of 'etsy.com/shopname' or searching from the main site. It costs you the same but the creator makes more
