For those you don't know how this works, when a video gets copyright claimed, 100% of its revenue starts going to the claimant. The only way for a claim to be automatically removed is to trim out the claimed clip, obviously bad if the clip has original narration over it. Songs have to be muted. -R

I grew up in an era where not liking things was called "being a picky eater" or a "food fuss". Which led to just having lists of things one did not like. In particular I did not like condiments on sandwiches or burgers. /1

An under-discussed part of John Crowley's career was his documentary filmmaking. THE WORLD OF TOMORROW, his 1984 film about the 1939 World's Fair (dir. Lance Bird) is available on YouTube in what appears to be a clean, complete copy. It's brilliant--smart, funny, elegiac, and very very Crowley.

Have I mentioned recently that I make art? India ink wash drawing.

A large, sligjhtly warped (from the water washes, because this was mostly a casual drawing) ink wash drawing by Alessandra Kelley. Over the sea of Marmara, at night, looking north, the lights of medieval Constantinople are reflected in shimmering columns on the waves. A woman, her back to us, hovers a few feet above the waves. Her hair is braided up but uncovered and she wears Byzantine clothes of a light-colored, wide short-sleeved tunic belted over a darker tight long sleeved knee length tunic, over a very pale pleated ankle-length gown. Her fists are clenched.
