Minecraft's smaller additions have really built up over the years into making it feel like a more complete game. Chunk fade-in and weather fog especially help with the atmosphere. The variety in animal voices and visuals also has done quite a lot for making farmland less annoying-noisy.

I do wish I could give my younger self a reality check in that not everything needs a response, opinion, or argument to be validated. It's better to just improve yourself to not repeat the mistakes you're perceiving in others, I've found. More productive, that's for sure.

I think horror is difficult to enjoy nowadays due to a lack of finesse, there's too much in-your-face scares and not much atmosphere and subtlety. It's mostly jumpscares, creepy faces, an obsession with attributing 'liminal' to things, and edgy shit like gore shock content.
