My favorite part about Moore's handling of Nazis as villains in Tom Strong is that he didn't just stop at punching them (even though there was a lot of glorious punching involved). There was also a conscious effort made into dismantling and debunking the Nazi ideology.

I agree except for Star Wars. Lucas kind of built that in a way that it just feels like a moment in a larger galaxy. So it can weather good and bad entries before and after better than Halo where the space parasite and Halo factory are dead by 3’s end.

Like, it can ruin the good movies too. When you've got so much stuff going on afterwards, it starts to make the stuff in the good movies seem a lot less significant. Rebels beat empire? Toys found new home? Chief destroyed the halo factory? Who cares, there's like 200 sequels, nothing changed.

Here's the real problem, and it's one shared by Halo and Star Wars. They're trying to keep making sequels after each franchise had excellent finales. Halo 3 was a good ending to halo. Return of the jedi was a good end for star wars. Toy Story 3 was a FANTASTIC ending for toy story. Why keep going?

Like "INSIDE OUT's" version of this *works* because the Emotions live in their own world apart from the human action. Porting that same dynamic to "TOY STORY" breaks that series' already tenuous logic because if the toys ARE active participants in kid's lives ...why is anything anything?

4 and 5 aren't exactly "bad," but it's a wholly other dynamic now where "The Kid" is no longer a god/universe allegory that defines the toys existence but more like an ACTUAL CHILD *of theirs* they're somehow responsible for along with the parents and it's... yea, it feels "off" now

Like it's kind of essentially understood (if never "spelled out") in the original 3 "TOY STORYs" that Andy is probably going to be 'okay' regardless of what happens to Buzz or Woody because ...the title isn't "ANDY STORY;" this is the entire closure to both sequels.

Here's Backpack as a yearling in 2007, unable to put weight on the injured paw. Holly took her cub & moved upriver, away from aggressive bears who might harm him at Brooks Falls. Fishing was harder for the pair, and she risked both of them struggling or starving, but he was SAFE.

Backpack in 2007, nursing an injured paw that is turned under, so that he can't put any weight on it. If you're wondering why they didn't provide vet care, it's their policy not to interfere when an injury is natural and not caused by human activity.

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (
