Of all the Sega Super Scaler arcade games, this is by far my favourite. It looks stunning, and despite it being full on, is very playable, much more so than Afterburner or Space Harrier imho. I love the tilt as you drift round the corners.

End of an era. #Zilog EOL'd the #Z80 over two years ago, now parent IXYS/Littelfuse issue EOL notification for all MCU lines. Got my first Z80 in a #ZXSpectrum in '83 then #SAMCoupe in '93. Made my own Z80 stuff since late 90s. Designed industrial equipment with eZ80 in 2003, plus co-pro on SAM.

I think the first time was Doctor Who for me too but not Daleks, an episode that ends with a chap pulling his face off to reveal a one eyed tentacled monster. I've seen it since (City of Death), and it's more funny than scary but child me did not see it that way at *all*.

Good fun at the @computinghistory.org.uk meet up today. I took some of last year’s RetroFest exhibits to show - Sinclair QL with Schön keyboard and my CST Thor - along with something I’ve never seen at any retro event, the Mancomp replacement keyboard for the ZX Spectrum. Should do a feature on it.

My show and tell exhibits today, the Mancomp spectrum board replacement where you take the dead flesh off the top of your machine and rest it in the provided space on the lower moulding. Interface 1 space is provided and there’s a hole on the right for the PSU to poke out of.

Underneath is the QL with very excellent Schön keyboard and QL Medic disk interface WITH CASE (not many of those escaped) and the CST Thor which is a QL with a custom expansion board containing ram, serial io, floppy and hard disk (scsi) and an IBM XT keyboard.

I think the best overall version is on the Amiga, but I've also found setting up an emulator or original machine to run it without issues (crashes, saves corrupting etc) is painful without the original disks. Not sure I've played the DOS original, does it have the same sampled sound effects?

Port of Pyjamarama to Acorn Electron (WIP). I have converted enough to be able to complete the game now. Working on the "you lose" and the "you win" screens, with nice chunky font. Screen mode split is still active but you won't notice it. Also, large boulder could be smoother but is good enough
