Good looking greenhouses--Shane Smith in his greenhouse book, says everyone should build one attached to the house, then admitted he didn't. Neither did I! But it's a nice "escape" on a sunny winter day when it's 60 something out there.

Inflation rose 0.6% last month, which is 7.2% if repeated for 12 months. The 3.7% annual rate includes a lot of data before March when the war started. Things are getting far worse. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

This has gotta be brutal in places like Maine and New Hampshire. They don’t need this data. They notice the near doubling in price of their heating oil just like we notice $5 gas www.nytimes.com/live/2026/10...
It isn’t just gas, either. Fuel oil prices, used for heating in many homes in the northeast, are up 74.2 percent over the past year.

It’s especially cruel that the rising cost of food, energy (heat, lights, gas) aren’t included in CPI because those may be about the only things that poor people buy

Thanks for the book reference. Agree, a greenhouse dug into the earth on one side (with heat accumulating black barrels of water) or one sunken into the earth a foot would be a great plan. Have pics of your attached greenhouses? 🌱🪴

Here's what to know if you're unsure about your measles immunity status
Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself against measles. For most adults, one shot of the MMR is considered enough protection. But there are certain situations that call for a second dose.

Wonderful! Lettuce does fine with short drops below freezing (and no wind in a greenhouse). If we ever moved I would add a greenhouse attached to house. Do you have Eliot Coleman’s books? This one is great and so is Shane Smith’s Greenhouse book. nice to add to winter reading 🌱🪴🥬🥔🥒🧄🍅
