And breath…..if I’m a bit quiet on here this week it’s because I’m looking after my mother and not in my studio. Grabbing a moment to think about my work in the garden before it’s time to do the bedtime routine again 🩷

I’m in my mother’s kitchen making her some cheese bread. She’s busy sleeping away the last part of her life in another room down the hall. I can hear her great grandson building a train track, a village of blocks, upstairs. Family life goes on on a sleepy Sunday regardless of how tired I am

I’m thinking, wouldn’t it be nice to paint a message under the blackbirds toes on the white banded area. The purchaser could choose the words, perfect for themselves or the recipient if it’s a gift. Blackbird & Ivy Bee icon available now. Dm for details

I’ve just picked tonight’s super fresh from the vegetable garden and plonked it on a stack of beautiful vintage platters that I found in a charity shop today for a pound each! Feeling lucky although dreading the giant runner beans I will return to in a week’s time when I return home

“Snoozability” is the ability to sleep deeply in great comfort even when one’s head is resting at a ridiculously impractical angle on the very hard wooden arm of a chair. I am deeply impressed and a little bit jealous of my dogs ability at what I can only describe as this innate gift

Between repeatedly walking my neighbours sheep back to the field where they’re meant to be living at the moment, I have managed to return to my studio to paint a few more moths on this Gilded crucifix for my Easter exhibition. Ahhhhhhh And breath

Sheep diaries continue today with the second incursion. They dropped in for a breakfast treat, uninvited as usual. I wonder how long it will be before they come back for lunch. Probably because we have such rich biodiversity that the food is more varied and delicious than the rye grass at home 🫢😉😂

Sheep diary day three. I still don’t own any sheep. Rounded them up and got them home. I’m certainly getting in some extra steps as a Shepherd.

I open up my Work. Between the delivery of building materials, 14 volunteers arriving in five different vehicles, a barking dog & my busy mind, I tried to find the balance. Select the brush. Mix the paint. I feel a moment of calm opening within me. Safe in my studio enjoying the alchemy of paint

A new commission from America begins to take shape on the easel here in Wales UK and it’s time to breathe again. The Americans have been having a bit of a quiet time recently regarding commissioning art so maybe this is the beginning of getting back to normal fingers crossed
