🚨 All eyes on the border wall blockade at Camp O:ṣhad in Lochiel, Ariz. This morning, over 50 Border Patrol / BORTAC agents raided the resistance camp, entering private property without a warrant, attacking land defenders & deploying a cherry-picker to extract the tree sitter.

We asked off-duty and former rangers how they're feeling. Check out the images for their words.
Text reads: “My heart bleeds for the staff there now.” “Having spent the best 5 years of my NPS career at Big Bend, and having been responsible for the well-being of the park community through the pandemic, my heart bleeds for the staff there now. Not only are they bearing witness to the insensitive destruction of much of the park they swore an oath to protect, but they are forced by politics to do so in silence, else they may be risking their jobs and livelihoods. But THEY ARE NOT ALONE. The country is watching and we will prevent the worst of this.” – Bob Krumenaker, Big Bend Superintendent 2018-2023 and Chair of Keep Big Bend WildText reads: “23 years of being a Law Enforcement ranger at Big Bend. Now I’m ready to throw the award they gave me at a dozer.” “I never thought I would see a construction company have operational control of the park. And they do. If they want an area closure, they get it. Clearing for materials yards? Well, they just do it. No permits, no compliance nothing. Sometimes they tell the park where they are going…as a good will gesture. – Michael Ryan, former BIBE River District RangerText reads "“It just feels good seeing a thing stop” The reason construction paused is because of organizing. I know it’s not over, but its a win. And I’ll take every chance I can get to remind myself that when we work together, we do have power. Even the most heartless of administrations will respond if enough people stand up. It just felt good seeing a thing stop. - anonymous resistance rangertext reads: “We all go to the river” In Big Bend, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the wide open spaces. But within those vast distance, we go to the water- all of us from humans to animals. We all go to the river. One of the most striking features of the Big Bend area is it's biodiversity - so many species of birds, of mammals, of cactus. Cutting off human access to the Rio cuts off our connection to our ancestors and our options for recreation in the desert. Cutting off animals' access cuts off their lives. A wall, or any disruptive and unnecessary construction, threatens this impressive web of life in so many ways.

On 8/17, after public pressure, CBP's commissioner ordered a pause on construction in Big Bend. That's not the end. It's a pause, not a win and now is the time to push harder.
Text reads: whats new? On 8/17, after increasing public backlash (from you!), CPB’s commissioner ordered a pause on all construction in Big Bend until he went out to see for himself. We’re not sure what will happen next, but this is an important step! There is a photo of an excavator in a desert landscape with a large blue clouded skyText reads: so.. did we win? The administration is responding to pressure, but the fight is far from over. This is a pause, not end-game. But it’s still worth celebrating! That means now is the time to push even harder! A photo shows an excavator in a large desert ecosystem, with an ocatillo desert plant visible.

Freedom 250 isn’t a rebrand, it is a hostile takeover and if you get the “ick” from it, there are a lot of reasons why. We created a guide to help folks understand the difference - A for America250, F for Freedom250. #A250 #F250
Top banner shows the America 250 logo imposed over a green checkmark, alongside a Freedom 250 logo crossed out. Text reads, “Enraged? So are we. Here are some actions you can take: Rangers, resist the Freedom 250 pin. If ordered to wear it, get that order in writing. The American Flag pin is a great alternative! Everyone: Call your congressional members and ask why your money is being directed into a partisan LLC! Educate your friends, family, and neighbors. Spread the word about the difference.”

Now, some park staff are being told they must wear these MAGA-coded pins or face disciplinary measures - pins manufactured and sold by the folks who make all your favorite MAGA gear! 🤢
Two columns of information. The left column has the “America 250” logo at the top: black text reads “AMERICA” and a stylized ribbon forms the number “250. The right column has the “Freedom 250” logo at the top: the logo is a white circle. A circle of navy blue stars is within, and in the very center text reads “Freedom 250”. Under the A250 logo, bulleted text explains that A250 was: established July 22, 2016 by Congress (public law 114-196); was created through bipartisan congressional authorization; is a nonpartisan entity officially known as the “U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission”; is comprised of Congress members from both parties as well as private citizens. Under the F250 logo, bulleted text reads: Established January 29, 2025 by Trump Executive Order as a White House Task Force; Created through executive action under a single administration after efforts to control A250 funding failed; a partisan entity officially run by Freedom 250 LLC. Created in December 2025, this private company is now executed by the National Park Foundation & staffed by Trump cronies.

The right column has the “Freedom 250” logo at the top: the logo is a white circle. A circle of navy blue stars is within, and in the very center text reads “Freedom 250”. Under the A250 logo, a bulleted list of text reads: Publicly accountable through federal oversight, congressional reporting requirements, and transparency standards; America 250 has only received $25million of the anticipated $100million from the administration and is facing a $100million shortfall. Text under the F250 logo reads: raises money from corporate sponsors and wealthy donors with no transparency or accountability; potential conflicts of interest: corporations donating to F250 have business before the administration; nearly 80 million dollars of taxpayer funds have (so far) been directed into Freedom 250.

Under the F250 logo, a bulleted list of text reads: partnered with PragerU to spread propaganda, mainly through AI slop; events are being produced by ESI - the same event group that managed the J6 rally that led to the assault on the U.S. Capitol in 2021; framed on a narrow interpretation of nationalism and the American identity.

Rather than allowing the bipartisan, longstanding America 250 commission to continue, Trump created the “Freedom 250” initiative when his administration discovered they couldn't directly manipulate where the money went.
Text at top reads, “Did you know?” Below, two categories with bulleted list. Category one is “America 250” with a green check next to it. The bullets are: “bipartisan; established by Congress in 2016; financial transparency & public funding; public service & engagement; not perfect, but not terrible.” Beneath that text is the second category: “Freedom 250” with a red circle and “x” next to it. The bulleted list reads: “established by Trump admin in 2025; no financial transparency; funded by private donors to buy favor; whitewashed, distorted history.” At the bottom of the page, a green banner says, “Want receipts? We got ‘em” with arrows pointing right.

Looking toward the celebrations of America’s 250th anniversary, the Trump administration saw an opportunity to profit.
Quote reads, “Requiring NPS personnel, uniformed or not, to wear a pin displaying the trademarked logo of Freedom 250 is unlawful, full stop.” Quote is attributed to “Tim Whitehouse, Executive Director, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, a watchdog group.” Below that text is a red circle with a white “x” in the middle, next to text that reads “FREEDOM 250”.

The trump administration is erasing the stories that help us understand America while hollowing out the very agencies responsible for protecting them. America 433+ teach in, Friday June 19th, 1:30-3pm, Harper’s ferry national historical park, West Virginia. You cannot separate censorship from the hollowing out of public agencies. When the workers who protect our history, science, lands, and public institutions are pushed out, the public loses. This is a fight over public memory, and the public’s right to know. What we learn in our national parks matters. When signs, exhibits, webpages, and public education materials are removed or rewritten, the public loses access to the stories that help us understand who we are. America 433+.
