Should find out if I have a job by the 28th. It's a really good one and I'll have money to spend on bots again. Got some cool ideas involving single piece flanged metal designs with TPC trim pieces to cover where the hull has holes for slotting.

Hoping these interviews I've been busting my butt on the last week pans out. If so I will be gainfully employed again after over six months of being unemployed. It's rough out there.

Why the hell would I use their tech? It is so hard to get a raw LLM to be harnessed in and with enough secondary software and guardrails to make it remotely useful and not a sycophant For non technical people? Like giving a child a loaded gun.

Really thinking at this point doing consulting at this point. All the analyst gigs right now are miserable and I'm beginning to think I've been out of the game in IT long enough the corpos got better options even though I use modern stuff all the time.

Was pricing out some parts for a PC build for a friend and this rampocalypse and inflation makes budget building a real pain in the butt. Was able to build a really nice rig for under 1500 bucks. But I had to use AM4 and DDR4 and last gen card to do it. Hopefully it lasts until 2032 for him.

Got to see the Nier concert at the orchestra tonight. It was fantastic. They had the original vocalists and everything. Got to see Yoko Taro being a weird little guy as well it was great.

At the Nier Concert in Seattle the orchestra is warming up.

Pretty sure I have accidently set up a barter system with the local crows where I leave them a whole peanut and they bring me cigarette butts. Keeps the neighborhood clean I guess 🤷‍♀️

This weekend when I was at Opensauce I noticed that nobody was interested in the big dumb next gen Hummer electric, but folks went wild for the little Telo truck. The transmasc guy that was explaining the stuff on I loved his whole vibe. I hope it takes off.

Ryn @reprapryn.bsky.social · 20/07/2026

Open Sauce was really fun. Weren't able to fight on second day due to a misunderstanding and a really good battery hit that stopped all the fights and Bot Hockey. Still got to see some really cool hacker tech and make new friends. Weather is great driving back to Seattle as well.

The golden gate bridge on the Northeastern side, at the scenic overlook. It's overcast and 7 AMish.

Can see the the bridge disappear into the mist

Check the bags, it will state if the salad or lettuce came from Taylor farms. Its more than possible to avoid them, especially if you get stuff from a farmers market where you can avoid corpos.

I was this many years old when I found out the reason my USB3 bus started to throw random errors in Linux and my headset would act erratically and crash my whole USB stack. Turns out Razer's transmitter will do weird interference with certain USB hubs and makes the controller think it's dying.

Now this is how you juice a construction industry and go green. Story had them doing a plan for 3 gigawatts of storage using this in places where pumped hydro isn't as useful. 4 days of grid storage with recycled concrete is really cool.

You get a real feeling for how much a knob Pickett was for how he acted during the pig war when you visit the San Juans. He really wanted to do war of 1812: 2 pig edition

It's funny the strategy work in global justice was how I basically do my Terra Invicta runs. Its easy to get buy in for factions if you reduce global inequality. Oddly enough, one of the evilest supremacy factions has reversing climate change as a goal. Because what's the point of ruling a tomb?

Seattle trans peeps, dumb question. I gotta bunch of clothes I want to donate me and my wife can't fit in anymore. I want to give them to my peeps in the trans community in particular because the regular avenues push us away. Ideas? Already washed and such. Just want them gone

I feel this in my bones. Before I transitioned, I was rapidly ascending and on my way to becoming a big wheel in IT for a big electronics company out of Asia. Got the Milton from office space treatment (make the job miserable for a load bearing person until they quit)

I was planning on running this AX type router I bought until it physically can't. I also bought it under the assumption of using it with a converted firmware. Glad to see I was completely justified. Also fully counting on the lawsuits to drill this into the ground

As I told a friend last night. Every missile launched, every warship that sails, and every fighter that flys is a promise broken, a mouth hungry. A waste of precious resources. But dang, Materiel is cool to study and learn how it works. Sort of a Miyazaki/Kojima thought on military gear

Really hoping the PEEK plants in Saudi Arabia don't get hit. They are the only ones on earth that make that stuff and without it, a whole bunch of aerospace and prosthetics tech just breaks.

My foamer self saw some of the classic streetcars operating in Porto and me and my friend having a delightful smile over it. Still in active service too, like you can just use it with a monthly pass like the Funicular.

Classic streetcars in Porto Portugal. Still in active service and of note it's clean, well maintained, and curb separated from traffic. And with a modern pantograph.

Before I left to go back to the US, had a drink with my friends of a 25 year old Port. Tasted like fruit and oak and looked really really nice. A bottle like that was 25 euro and is considered pricey. I can believe the claim Portugal has some of the best wine and spirits on Earth.

Riding to the airport on the Alfa Pendular back to Lisbon right now and even second class is nicer than most Amtrak rides that cost 3 times as much and goes slower because it doesn't tilt.

My wifes hands on the Alfa Pendular train. She is playing a steam deck and drinking a Portuguese cider called Somersby.

Can't spell Funicular without Fun! Was neat to ride on, and much better than climbing my ass up the hill.

A funicular in Porto Portugal. Note the funny accordion. It's to address the grade of the hill not being uniform. It goes alongside one of the middle age walls

Foamers I can't seem to identify this make of train some sort of Bombardier older build in Porto. Wes Anderson color schema inside I love it

I didn't realize until I got over to Europe for my visit over the last few days that my mental health would improve so much so quickly. Or my physical health. I hope eventually I could make a home for myself here. Guess I need to see. Will be back in Seattle come next week. For now, pictures!

Porto Portugal over the Duro river from Villa de Gaia. Early March but an otherwise very nice day out. Pleasant temperatures and dear friends
