Rhododendron peeps!!! Help! What is wrong with my precious rhododendron! It was ok all summer and now since 2 weeks, a couple of dead branches, yellow leaves and yellowing branches (mostly the recent young branches). What do I do?

Belgian Beer lovers! I’m competing with two other foodies to create the best new Grimbergen beer! I wanted to create a Stout with a lower ABV at 5,2% Belgian stouts are traditionally +8%! A bottle contains half a slice of saved bread! It has more protein, prunes and bay leaf! Vote Stout(e) Regula

I was told you miss those days of twitter when I shared my new old books too! Family cooking from aunt Mary. Cookbooks by supposed aunts were a thing at the start of the 1900’s. This is one from France, looking forward to seeing how it compares to the ones from Belgium from that time. #bookhistory

A long shot but can anyone point me towards a list of printed books in the Załuski collection? More specific I need the list of books that were kept in the Russian national library before part of it was sent back to Poland after WWII. Shares appreciated 🙏🏻

Is there a lace or fabric historian in my network? I have a box of antique Belgian lace plus original patterns and fabric material to create ribbon lace. I want to sell it to someone who will care for it, maybe use it, study it. Let me know if you are or know someone!

Influencers making ice cream in the snow, all acting like they just came up with the idea, foodies following suit. People claiming that is how ice cream was made in the past. No it wasn’t.

Yesterday at the Plantin-Moretus museum, home to the oldest printing presses in the world and the perfect location for my two lectures about culinary books and manuscripts, some that have even been printed here in the 16th century. Pictured recipes by one of the great women of the family.

I cancelled the collab, all upset and made my own post which is getting kind and loving comments, so grateful for my own community

I’d love to work in a museum, but high educational requirements close the door to my application as I am in nearly everything autodidact. The ironic thing is I do get freelance assignments from museums… I can actually bring in people.

It was really upsetting this week when a group of people (including a doctor) were judgemental about my choice to take medication for my ADHD. I’m guessing they don’t understand neurodivergence and think I’m taking the “easy” route. I can tell you there is nothing easy about finding the right meds.

Happy Easter! In Britain Hot Cross buns are baked, but traditionally they are baked on Good Friday. Legend says that a bun baked on Good Friday will never grow mouldy. I tried it, it’s true! 😉 I have a recipe in my book ‘Oats in the North, Wheat from the South’ The British Baking Book’ in the US 💛
