You are right that this seems like an inflection point. I suspect this has more to do with how TKO-WWE is carrying themselves within the industry. I also remember Roman airing complaints about the booking/creative in WWE.

Rock is usually very generous with online condolences or congratulations towards people connected to him and wrestling in general. It's odd when compared to the behaviour of people under the TKO-WWE umbrella and how controlling they are of any mention of AEW.

There is zero reason for articles like this as all available information (which is primary) contradicts this. At this point TKO-WWE have got to be losing money over AEW because there is zero reason for the counter programming and manipulation of media.

You could be right. I am not a lawyer and am going on legal precedents and common sense. In the end there are ways around any barrier that exists in all facets of life. Given how much money TK has and how connected his family is I am sure they will find a way to keep AEW viable (and on TV).

Thing is, WWE works for the networks, not the other way around. No one is preventing a network from having 2 wrestling shows unless there are contractual clauses but even then: 1. AEW's owner is a NFL owner who has a fortune backing him up.

As for WWE wanting AEW to NOT get another TV deal with WBD... Between Tony Khan's personal connections and how well AEW is doing (especially with the WWE counter programming) I would think it's becoming increasingly more difficult to convince networks to ignore AEW for TKO/WWE.

It's interesting. I feel/think part of the reason AEW announces their matches like they do for Dynamite/Collision is to keep WWE guessing. AEW also announces their sites as late as possible so that it makes counter programming more difficult.

I have thought this for a while. TKO are terrible at business and competent competition (AEW) is going to plow the WWE under. The WWE cannot pivot and have zero insight as to how to effectively compete with a promotion that "gives a shit".
